Just think it’s a bit unfair that publicans must shut where there might be some bit of structure vs a load of lads having house parties where anything goes

Heard this line of argument a few times. For my money, if you put younger folk in a pub for a couple of hours and then tell them to scoot just as the booze kicks in, they aren't then going to go home satisfied with their night's socializing. At least the way it is now, it's only the ones committed to breaking the rules who are doing so. With pubs open, the rubber armed will too

How can you have matches where the parents bring kids to matches but have to go away?

Surely these junior matches are effectively "summer camps"? The organizers should cop on, and play on.

A thought experiment if you will.

A deadly disease with an Ro of 3 and a doubling time of 4 days is squashed
in hiberina (a fictional island in north Western Europe). through the hard work of the public respecting public health measures and harsh restrictions.

They are now enjoying the fruits of their labour and can move freely about without hindrance or fear of contracting the virus. Croke park is full of 80,000 fans and kids can all go to school. The only continuing sacrifice is that tourism is not permitted and anyone arriving must quarantine for 14 days and test negative for the virus. This has been the situation for 100 days.

If the virus is to reemerge how the fvck will it NOT come from travel given that there is zero virus on the island of Hibernia and the people their don't eat bats from where the virus came?

    It never went away.

To take on your strategy -

    1. build a wall on island of Ireland.
    2. Leave the EU.
    3. Develop a new economic model.

    And this will bring -

    Abject poverty and mass emigration.

What is our record number of weekly tests? Has this purported 100k capacity actually been properly tested?

if counting mon to sun then weekending the 3/5/2020 with 570109 if using numbers from the hub

Yes europe and ECDC seem to be doing a great job. Cases rising in practically every european country. I'm not saying ECDC are doing a great job or most of Europe either. Look to Asian countries Vietnam/China/South Korea. They all have strict borders.

The European commission is advising based on ideology. Open borders above all else. Best to let it get to a level where you can say "travel is a minute part of the transmission" instead of truthfully saying "it's the origin of the transmission".
    • We can't have our cake and it.
    • We can't have cheeky holidays to the continent.
    • We can't have free travel.
    • We can't go to packed stadiums.
    • We can't even go to the pub while expecting our kids to be able to return to school.

The only countries that can do that have implemented quarantine and testing.

That's his choice. My only concern is that he would be clogging up the healthcare system when he needs ICU treatment having contracted Covid-19.

    Still no evidence.

AGM's are already allowed to be postponed until 31st December 2020 and can be held via electronic means if required.

The Government has already indicated that the December 2020 deadline is likely to be pushed well into 2021 if the pandemic is still ongoing.

    30billion it has cost already.

This could cost us more than the banks.

Abject poverty and mass immigration could easily happen with the current plan.

    Banking crisis.
By the end of last year, the net cost stood at €41.7 billion, when disposals of equity and shares are taken into account, along with dividend payments, and a range of fees paid to the State.

The cost of servicing the debt amounts to between €1.1 billion and €1.3 billion a year

Engage the companies office. Of course they will make allowances in these extraordinary times.

Get an extension and put plans in place to organise a virtual AGM. Use the tech at your disposal.

These are extraordinary times. Rest assured your not the only one facing this problem.
