    Non surgical/medical grade face coverings:

Face coverings are encouraged because they restrict the spread from an infected person to a non infected person. They do this simply by reducing the distance traveled by droplets.

Face coverings won't stop you inhaling the virus if it reaches your face covering.

If you could be 100% confident that you do not have the virus there is no point in you wearing a face covering.

You can not be 100% certain that you do not have the virus. Asymptomatic carriers are the cause of the virulence of this curse.

Ergo, cover your face in indoor public settings. It's not a conspiracy.

    Oh Man.....

Plenty of people not wearing masks on the train at the weekend. Ticket inspector only wearing a visor. To be fair I took off mine too as it's too much to be wearing one for several hours.

I observed a woman in Brown Thomas Grafton Street today with two children. She was walking around the store with a phone to her ear and not wearing a mask. She had an unused mask in her hand. She left the store and immediately the phone came away from her ear. She started talking to her children. She then crossed the road to Marks and Spencer directly opposite. As she went in the door the phone came back up to her ear.

These stores should have a dedicated person stopping this type of trickery. Let them tell the person to finish their call outside.

Silence...this fiendish individual can never be stopped.

Anyone having issues with peripheral vision while wearing masks? I have tripped and fallen a couple of times and jarred my back after missing steps.

Yeah I’m noticing that my peripheral vision downwards is affected. I don’t have a problem with tripping but anything that has me looking down like into my basket etc I have to angle my head differently.

I've been using the disposable masks up until now as I only had to wear them for a short period of time, going to the shop etc. Any recommendations for masks that are more comfortable, i.e. can wear for a few hours with no issues? Find it a little harder to breath if I'm wearing the disposable mask for more than a few minutes.
I bought some ones from the Adidas website a while back no complaints at all.
I wore one on a 5 hour bus journey (with a break about half way through) no issues. They are good quality and wash well.
Only two layers but little holder in the middle of you want to add filter.

Saw a mother and teenager today trying to wear face masks. Both of them with their mask under their nose. For the love of God, for those with kids, just teach them properly.

Getting fairly annoying now wearing a mask to be honest, no end in sight.

The wearing of them will be mandatory for the forseeable future quite possibly for years to come so best that you get used to wearing them.

Looks (!) good but would it satisfy the need to protect others from your potential Covid infected exhalation? I can't see where it mentions what happens to what you breathe out? I'd be keen to hear more.

What a depressing thought when this thing can be suppressed with hard action.

Nope, all pervious experience contradicts you.

Very good, but not if you're the one who is asymptomatic as it does nothing to prevent you spreading.

    French cases increasing.

French doctors recommending mandating masks in workplaces and in all indoor spaces.

It will be introduced here eventually too. I would prefer the gov not wasting time this time as they did in April to June.

I work in a biggish office, and tbf social distancing and hand washing is a massive presence, but people are getting sloppy.

More and more people coming into the office who could be working remotely and people having chats right on top of each other.

I imagine this scenario is not uncommon in Ireland, definitely believe making mask wearing mandatory in offices has to happen sooner rather than later especially if cases continue to climb.

You're not supposed to wear it over your eyes!
Get a better fitting cover if you have problems. My mask doesn't come into my field of vision at all.

The only thing it will do if that happens is it will create a massive rift in society between the people who will believe every type of nonsense and the ones that can still see the wood from the trees.

    I suspect you're right.

It's one of the easiest ways to prevent spread so that sounds quite sensible.

It's now time to start and enforce the mask rules properly.

That's quite possible, though doesn't stop them being made mandatory.

Of course people don't enjoy wearing them. We wear them because we have to and can help in some small way, with a slight inconvenience to ourselves.

Then you'll have some examples of people who delight in mask wearing then?

I think you're confusing understanding why masks are necessary with liking wearing them

How can you tell if they enjoy if you can't see their face? You must have asked them why they enjoy it, so do tell..

In shops some people are putting on masks but neglecting other important covid practices e.g. using hand sanetiser, keeping 2m apart etc.
There was a time when 90%+ would use the the hand sanetiser going into shops but that seems to be much less now. Thats my impression anyway.
People are too busy foostering with their mask as they walk in the door.
