No one thinks that. Don't be silly.

It's not a minor inconvenience if your work requires it. Do you speak for everyone now?

I wear one all day in work, as does everyone else I work with. It's not really that big a deal.

Actually yes it is. Mask up and get on with things.

No: I will wait for the HSE to recommend

And you speak for everyone? Have you done manual labour while wearing a mask?

I would think I speak for the vast majority yes.

Majority of my colleagues hate them. Again have you done manual labour for 8hrs a day whilst wearing a mask or do you just wear one when on a bus for 30 mins or in a shop for a short time?

Does your work involve manual labour?

Yep in fact several hours of it today. No issues with it today or at any other time.

If you feel like that fine but once again you don't speak everyone.

I spent several hours today wearing masks while doing gardening/horticultural work and as I already stated no issues with it. I also wear them while in shops or on public transport.

Good for you mate. I'm guessing that's outdoors why would you wear a mask outdoors?

For my own peace of mind.

I walked by a car today that had two masks hanging from the rear view mirror. Fulfilling a requirement as far as I can see.

What's the logic of no masks outdoors?

Peace of mind from what? A mask won't protect from the virus.

Actually I'm not. If you treat a mask as only a compliance measure where does the protection element enter the equation?.

I don't understand what you are trying to say.

In your opinion. And even if that is the case should I have the virus without being aware of it wearing a mask greatly reduces the risk of spreading it to anyone I might come in contact with while doing my work activities.

It's fairly simple if you are going to have a face mask hanging out of rear view mirror it serves no purpose other than compliance with requirements. Clearly no interest in hygiene.

I don't know why you are referring to having seen a mask on a rear view mirror. Is that supposed to be evidence of something? Personally, I wear it on my face.

Maybe the car containing said face masks was parked outside mask owner`s own home?

I think he means the owner of the car with the masks is very smart.
You're not going to forget to put it on before entering the shop if you have a few dangling in front of you on the rear view mirror.
    Thanks for the tip!

Great idea. I’m pretty sure that’s how doctors remember to wear their masks before heading into an operating room too.

    It’s compliance not science.

Your all forgetting that the virus knows if your mask has been hanging from a rear view mirror or put in a pocket. You'll easily be able to spot people who've been doing that with their mask as there will be a swarm of virus chasing them down the street and calling them names.

I think some posters are getting a bit confused.

There is no mandatory requirement to have a mask hanging from you rear view mirror. You are ok to stick with your pine scented air freshener.

The effectiveness of a mask for reducing aerosol spray is not reduced if it has previously been hanging from a rear view mirror.

    ;)

The same way a virus knows if you’ve payed €9 for a meal or knows if you’re in a spar or an opticians?
