    Chicken cooked right, fresh ingredients.

    A thing of beauty.

To be honest, I think a decent sandwich is always better.

While, I like tortillas with hot food - like proper mexican food, I'll never understand why tortillas got renamed wraps and became a sandwich bread !

    Sure.

But that doesn't take away from a good wrap.

I think it’s for people who don’t want to eat bread, like if ur on a diet I was always lead to believe eating a wrap was better than eating bread.

I love the centra made in store sweet chili chicken wrap, I notice centra in city increase their prices of the same products and are less in stores in the county.

Most wraps I've seen have roughly the same kcal as 2 slices of bread so i dont think theres any real benefit there

Sometimes I just don't want the bread. The buns with burgers I often find too much bread as well. Maybe I should just 'go nude, in the food sense.

So Scoozis is the best restaurant in Cork according to listeners of 96Fm... At least Liberty Grill won best breakfast which I would agree with.

:D doesn't say much for the listenership of that station.

Had dinner at the Cork International Hotel this evening - very nice I have to say, well spaced out tables, friendly staff and food was very tasty and reasonably priced - will be going again I’d say.

Second post in 2 days! I’m on my holliers this week so trying to eat out in a few places :-) went to Bunnyconnellan today - Absolutely beautiful! Had pan roasted cod with chorizo and green beans, fondant potato and cream sauce..delish..and then the dessert...omg one of the nicest I’ve had in a while - lemon meringue ice cream cake - lemon curd ice cream with bits of meringue in the middle And a chocolate brownie base - so tasty! Great surroundings and view - even though it was a crap day! Can’t wait to go back again soon.

Vegan KO. Its vegan fast/street food, they were working out a trailer type thing in the garage in turners cross. I've tried, its very good.

Would recommend Thompson’s, nice food, nice drink and the staff were very friendly.

Still think Bodega do the best White Russians in Cork as they use fresh cream, when made with milk they really aren’t the same.

I really like the jian bings.

I've only had the basic jian bing but I loved it and will definitely be back for more.

They've started doing general Chinese food and so-called Asian Street Food, too.

Thanks BR. None of my friends like Chinese food so might do it solo.

Hi all, any suggestions for a nice spot for a coffee and a slice of cake in the city around evening time

Looking to go someplace after work on Monday around 6pm - Castle Café & Salt are both closed which is gutting. Soma fits the bill but not guaranteed a seat there and I'm drawing a blank on other spots

If Soma is full, then Bean & Leaf are open on grand parade until 9pm. There is seating upstairs too.

The Sri Lankan place on Pope's Quay does excellent coffee and cake. Usually pretty quiet, too.

MYO cafe on popes quay is really nice, their white chocolate mocha is amazing. I think they only open Wednesday to Sunday.

115 Cafe (new place part of Old Oak) is open pretty late certain evenings, above suggestions great too

Forgot about this place and been meaning to try.

Reckon I might try Soma and pick up some coffee there for home, failing that I'll try 115. Thanks for all the suggestions folks - reckon I'll try the Sri Lankan spot when I'll be looking for some food instead of just coffee

I had a coffee and cake there with a friend last week around 9pm, it was lovely. Hadn't tried anything from there before but sitting out on Caroline Street for a coffee in the evening was great!

I'd stick with the coffee and baking.

    Looking for:

    a) a decent, reasonably priced Italian restaurant in the city

    b) a pub that does food and allows you stay a bit longer in the current climate.

Have no problem booking in advance as I am down for a few nights next week.

    A) Rossini’s or il padrino. I think il Padrino is a Nicer setting But the food is better in Rossini’s. Booking probably essential currently. Both on the same street

    B) not a clue really but I might try the rising sons brewery that does pizza.
