Meant to be all over the sky, I'm not seeing any yet, I've a clear sky can nearly see the lights of New York from where I'm standing.
I'm f'n dead once her indoors realises I've cleaned off the mini keg, stars ahoy.

    Clare or Galway ?

Am I the only one who thinks the socially distant concert looks crap?

I think it looks fantastic, can relax in your own space instead of drunken teenagers elbowing you every few seconds.

    Is that good or bad?

    It's good, in a way.

New York isn't having any meaningful problem post its initial surge , down to 500 new cases a day and a few dead.

So 40% immunity seems to mean a effective control.

I think it's a very clever idea and it's very creative and it's a fantastic idea. It doesn't look crap at all. It would be somewhat of a different concert experience for sure. It's a good idea. I like it.

I don't like the way they pull deaths from months back out of their arse pocket to be announced on a certain day, if the death hasn't occured in the last 7 days it should just be banked with the rest of the deaths and not mentioned on a particular daily total.

I blame the media, they know that in today's age, clicks are most important. If 5 historical deaths were reported tomorrow I can guarantee most media outlets would simply report "x cases, and 5 new deaths".

The HSE and NPHET are extremely transparent that deaths are historical, they can't control how the copy and paste media report it.

to be fair the journalist today had to ask when the death was, it wasn't made clear by glynn

Agree it can be confusing but in reality it is X new deaths. They just report the total deaths to date

Yes . But they should be registering or notifying them sooner / asap , during a pandemic .
Still Covid deaths no matter when they happen .

Get on to NPHET/Government with your suggestion

Maybe CC the grieiving family in on it also

The grieving family will never know the backdated death report referred to their loved one.

People need to stop giving out about the historical deaths thing. Every time they announce it they say deaths notified in the past 24 hours. It doesn't been they happened in the past 24 hours. If they reported it any other way people would accuse NPHET/HSE/government of not being transparent and trying to bury the figures by reporting old deaths differently just like what happened with the backlog cases from Germany.

They may have an idea as they would have received a copy of the certificate, which i'm assuming they only received after the hospital/coroner registered it.

But listen, i'm not here to argue

Think I've seen a few but I've gone for a stroll with the barman up a bodhrán between lahinch and ennistimon. Either that or face the music at home.

It's the family of the deceased who register a death, not a hospital, nursing home or gp.

I know , unfortunately, have had to register my mother's .
But Dr Holohan did say that it was going to be quickened up , due to it being notifiable , but I suppose it's not an easy thing to broach with families .

Well it still leaves the uk with over 40,000 deaths officially so 5,000 not being Covid deaths is nothing to shout about. A terrible record given they did lock down.

That is true. And excess deaths in the UK are almost 60,000 iirc and that doesn't change regardless of how COVID deaths are counted which is shockingly high
