Maybe not a surprise, but when cases are climbing so steadily it's clearly dangerous.
Yes but cases have evened out now and it's likely that most of the community transmission cases are from the 3 counties and that's being acted on

Glynn confirming there that the cases in the three locked down counties are widely spread out throughout them and not closely linked to the meat processing plants. "People work in a particular place but they live and socialise etc in a much wider community." He's saying the adjacent counties should be wide. Absolute carnage.

a coherent question would be a start

Well community transmission was supposed to be the canary in the coalmine and it looks like it's struggling to breath.

I'd do bits at these press conferences tbh there's so many questions to be asked

Be handy if they gave the counties where the community transmission cases are coming from

In New Zealand, they have listed in detail the movements of the people that have tested positive over the last few days....obviously they can’t do that with the numbers we have here, but some idea of the locations/general addresses would be helpful

That last question there was probably the most fumbled and ineloquent of the entire pandemic

At least he got it out in the end, felt bad for him after 20 seconds of fumble.

When the cases were high, you were selling the community transmission is low and now it's community transmission high, cases low.

Did he just tacitly say 22% are community transmission? That's 1 in every 5 cases, that's a staggering proportion that they can't figure out.

    That's a lot

Potentially higher and it's increasing. Your bread and butter has gone stale.

People don't like me for being realistic and honest Stevie :D

You don’t believe most people make a full recovery? Can give you more anecdotes from a couple of people I know. People are having prolonged recovery. Most are not.

Sorry are you addressing that to me?
It was the other poster who was making sweeping statements about people not believing in recovery from the virus.
What my original comment was that I saw a very good documentary which showed dome particular experiences in the UK .
Of course most people recover, some recover with lasting complications, some do not recover , no other agenda here .

What are you waffling on about?

You've been using the low community transmission percentage figures anytime there was mention of the high case rate but now that the community transmission is on the up, you're talking about the cases leveling out.

Your bread and butter arguement has gone stale so you've found yourself a new loaf.

16% of cases associated with community transmission over the last week, still very low

    Is that not up?

ACE can correct me but i'm sure the spike in last week's numbers would have some impact on local transmission ad regardless the number is still low

I'm not disputing his (data hub) figures, they're as accurate as anyone can get on this forum.

I'm just commenting on his movement from the community transmission arguement to the cases evening out arguement. He has a tendency to highlight the positives only, whereas I like a dose of realism now and again.

They've been saying community transmission is low for a while. Even at 25% of 40, it's only 10 cases.

I think you have up to three months to certify a death.

I thought they said back in May that that was going yo be changed / shortened for Covid deaths .
    Would make more sense .

It's increasing though and the rate of increase tends to go up as the number of CT cases go up.

Holohan asked them to do it faster and suggested the law should be changed. So far it hasn't.

Drinking game: take a shot everytime Glynn says 'in the first instance'

Or begins a statement with " So..."
