Not sure what happened to the formula, I'm revising it so I'll need a few days to fine tune it and I'll put up the estimations as soon as it's fixed.

Today's positivity rate is 1.3%, one of the lowest in the last week
That gives us a range between 75 to 100 cases today.

That is, new positive tests, not new cases, which could be lower again.

    My thinking entirely.
She herself may have wanted to be involved, may even have got an injection and believe she's participated in the vaccine programne, but I think its extremely questionable that Putin would allow his daughter take an untested and unproven vaccine.

Could also be that he doesn't consider it untested and unproven.

What’s the problem with keeping kids at home, ? Remote learning just has to be a thing for now. Not ideal but it’s where we are at. School isn’t a baby sitting service, it’s an educational institution designed to provide learning.

Well the problem with that is that an entire generation has their lives organized around that. How are people going to work if they are supposed to school their children?

Is there anywhere with a breakdown of weekly testing numbers?

Is there anywhere with a breakdown of weekly testing numbers?

    https://covid19ireland-geohive.hub.arcgis.com/pages/hospitals-icu--testing

Has tests carried out over last 7 days but postive tests are totals that ACE kindly provides daily updates to us from.

The positivety rate for 7 days can be used to work out the total positive tests over 7 days figure.

    Dr John Campbell from yesterday

    https://youtu.be/6UJ2PL5ERVo

    He stated:
Preschoolers have 10 - 100% more viral load than children 5-17 and we will catch it from them who historically have mild cases.

    LATEST TESTING UPDATE

Tests conducted last 24 hours: 5818
Tests conducted last 7 days: 32518
    Additional positive tests: 80
Positivity Rate last 7 days: 1.7%

Bit of an increase in testing, nearly 2000 more than yesterday.

Pity to see the rise but increased testing is positive. Hopefully, like yesterday there is a nice drop between positive tests and new cases.

Maybe you need to fix the min/max numbers in your generator?

    Latest testing data
Overall community referrals remain quite low, I believe there is targetted testing of some sort underway as of yesterday - over 10,000 swabs taken for the first time since nursing home testing

    Thanks, sorry I mean historically.

Just noted figures for volume of tests seem to be considerably down on when there was a much lower incidence 3 or 4 weeks ago.

Which I would have thought is curious given we are worried about large outbreaks spilling into community transmission, and also heard of GPs reporting much increased numbers of referrals since the bank holiday weekend.

Unless it's a case that they have restricted volume of tests in order to process them faster. Which I'd have thought concerning given current volumes are less than a third of the capacity we supposedly had from May.

But equally I could be drawing too many conclusions from something that might have a better explanation.

I wonder what the real numbers are though who actually have it. 95% of people I know wouldn't bother get tested if they showed any symptoms.

They would have to literally be on deaths door before they would consider it and most people only have mild symptoms.

Me included. The world number is probably closer to 200 million cases than 20 million.

If I had symptoms I’d want to know if it was Covid. Just so I’d know that I’d had it and wouldn’t need to worry about catching it (assuming you’re immune once you’ve had it). Otherwise I’d keep wondering if that dose I had was it or not.

Should be 48hours max although i see the numbers of tests being provided has increased so may be some resource issues.

A lot of Spanish footballers in La Liga are getting the virus.

    None are showing any symptoms.
They are only getting tested because they are starting pre season training.

I think the theory about 40% of people get no symptoms is correct could be even higher.

Thanks Stevie, was thinking that, ie with meat plants stafg all being tested delays might occur for non urgent cases.... I really wish tho that they would do some real random testing on scientific basis so we'd have an idea as to the actual rate of infection. Because youd have to think the amt of asymptomatic people may be hiding real number of cases and making county lockdowns possibly pointless....
