Not to sound cold but, what's your point? Do you want us to be outraged with you?

I don't understand...I piss and moan about my job everyday but, people are dying all around the world, everyday, from many different causes. Does that make me a bad person?

What do you have in mind? A nick knack? Or perhaps an egging?

People will always disagree with you. Deal with it.

    No, I do get it.

You're angry because people are thinking of their livelihoods instead of people who could potentially die from this.

Are you angry at homeowners not thinking of the homeless?

    You don’t.

I’m not angry at all, I’m commenting on people putting ‘business’, profit ahead of the wellbeing of the state and its people... every publican and staff receives covid payment.

I’m not angry at homeowners not thinking of the homeless, no.

Still none in Laois, Offaly or Kildare. It doesn't seem to be affecting the infected too badly.

Nah sorry people, it's you two who don't get it at all and quite frankly, I'm not shocked. Ignorance is bliss

What kind of sheltered lives have you two lead? One is shocked at business people only thinking of profit, money and livelihoods and the other is "wowed" that I can't understand that.

In a perfect world, yes we'd all live as one and we'd all fight this together and we'd beat this together and go on and live happily ever after blah blah blah. I would ****ing love that!

BUT....And here's the kicker....The world is a cruel and twisted place. Do you really think Leo Varadker or Micheal Martin gives a flying **** if you or me get this virus and die? :D Do you think business owners give a **** so long as they turn a profit and take our money? You don't think politicians and business people get to where they are in this world by being honest, truthful, heroic, respectful and decent do you?

You're outraged at businesses and people putting money and profit before the health of others? You should have paid attention in History class, lads. It's always been this way unfortunately

    Welcome to the real world!

I applaud the "how dare they, this isn't right" posts on Boards.ie but, you really think they're listening to you? Go and say it to them and see what happens

Prime Time was a hoot tonight. The brave Miriam decided tonight was the time to do a spot of on the scene reporting from Tullamore. Why? Well who knows, it's RTE and nothing they do makes sense. Sure send an anchor to a restricted zone for "reasons".

Also had some mad yoke claiming that meat factory workers should be legally entitled to sick pay, even though there is no legal requirement for sick pay in this country.

"Well, yeah, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man"

This combined with the tests for the past 2 days makes me wonder what all the cluster fuss and lockdown is about?

Beginning to look like an overreaction tbh. I wonder who will take responsibility if it's admitted. NPHET only advises so we are told.

It feels like all the journalists asking if the counties needed to be locked down during the press conference last Thursday swayed that decision.

It also seems like this is the government "making an example"

NPHET will, Dr Glynn said as much the other night. Was along the lines of I'd rather be here in 2 weeks time to take criticism for an over reaction than have done nothing.

If it was a knee jerk reaction will they have the balls to admit that and lift the lockdown early or will they dig heels in and continue to say it was needed.
Lot of angry people my location with confirmations, communions and weddings cancelled with little or no notice.

Cold comfort to the affected business owners in each county and their staff. Crying Wolf is not a good strategy.

The world is a cruel and twisted place if as citizens and political people we enable it to be and accept it TO be. if we don’t, it isn’t and won’t be. You label the world as cruel and twisted ? As it corresponds to your life maybe it is. In my world it’s not.

Go and say it to them ? They have already been truly forthright on the matter so my input isn’t required to establish that.

Ohh and I guess I paid enough attention in history to get an A, but I’m less concerned about history right now then I am about OUR present AND future. ;)

While that's an admirable stance for him to take, and one that goes completely against Irish politics MO, he absolutely shouldn't take the criticism. That lands squarely on MM and Donnelly. This insulation of politicians from decisions has to end.

It may be but I think they were right to do it, especially Kildare.

It will also make the next localised lockdown easier as the example has been made and other counties experiencing the next lockdown won't feel as picked on.

I think some of the rural pubs are copping on. There’s one opening up in Leitrim that’s going to serve pizzas, watch others start following suit.
