I'm saying it's an absolute stupid and dangerous policy. I won't have to wear a mask having a few pints tonight, I don't have to wear one if sitting down for a coffee but do if I intend to leave with one.
This policy is putting people in danger due to people not using the masks correctly, if they were being used as intended I have no issue.

Most folks I have seen seem capable of using masks correctly - and will only get better with practice!

Some of the Journalists definitely one fella called Shane, always sound angry at the briefing. It’s like they are trying to antagonise the panel.

    Does anyone else notice this?

i want my journalists grilling government at every opportunity to be honest. what else are they there for - a chat about the weather?

they should grill them with more intelligent questions, not just appear to be grilling them by taking an angry tone which is what Newstalk/Indo does.

I get that and agree but they ask really daft questions but aggressively, is the tone to make them sound like they are grilling them or make them sound like Paxman. The content has to match the tone for me.

The questions about hair and weddings from Zara to Tony for weeks made me cringe.

This is why I never watch them at all. Too many people with stupid questions and trying to make a name for themselves. OK if their questions are useful and challenge the powers that be, but that doesn't seem to happen often.

And while I'm on my rant, has anyone else noticed how many questions these people ask all in one. If I happened to be the recipient of four or five questions I think I would only remember the first one TBH!

well yeah the standard of question leaves a lot to be desired to be fair.

The thing that angers me the most form this whole situations is that 100% no one will be held accountable. No matter how badly the government screws everything, their defense is 100% rock solid - 'sure look at how bad the other countries had it, we did our best under trying circumstances....'

    A delicate subject for Tony

But how many people were wanting to know when they could get their hair done or have their wedding. Feck sake there were plenty of reports of people calling their hairdressers asking of they could get their hair done on the QT.
Can't always blame the reporters when they ask the same questions asked over and over again by the the public.
Questions change with the mood of the public, people want to go on holidays and go to the pubs so questions will reflect that even though some of us think they are stupid questions.

GPs should just be referring patients for a test. The cost is covered by the HSE.

If a GP is charging for their time/phone consultation than thats on them and is at the discretion of each practice.

Charging any patient for Covid is ridiculous.

What happened to the 30 euro fee covered by the government for all GP referrals?
If doctors are charging for referrals are they still getting this?

you don't have to ask questions just because some public are asking them, you only get so much opportunity to talk to these officials so you better ask important questions.

I know of no doctors charging for Covid referrals.

Anybody paying for a test is doing so by choice or as a result of undergoing treatment in a private hospital.

Why? Is it a competition or is the UK the benchmark for cases over the past 14 days?

So it will be classed as community transmissions.

I wonder if they picked it up from children attending the crèche? Were children asymptomatic? How about parents? Did parents send children in with temperatures and a sniffle or was it completely innocent? So many questions nd none will be answered.

I do think crèches and primary schools are in a very vulnerable situation and are wide open to infection. I think for children the virus can show up as a cold and there will be so many people/parents who will probably dismiss colds and send them it and that's when it will pick up and circulate around communities.

Have you seen the numbers over the last few days? 3 counties are living under restrictions and that's your take on it. Strange or a wind up.

And what if those questions have already been asked? Unfortunately what some people think as frivolous others think important.
Saw one chap go on a rant because he wanted to go to Greece on his holidays because he says the lockdown has been hard on his mental health and only Greece  can fix it.

An outbreak in a low population country will always have that impact.

Our major problem is that the experts are running the country.

    Running it down the drain....

NPHET are our leaders and that’s worrying but it suits our Taoiseach and ministers just fine as they have no responsibility for any decisions taken. And have the handy backup of NPHET said this if and when things go wrong

Where is over government, holidaying somewhere in Ireland, Leo getting new shoes

That's hardly a homophobic comment. I'm just reading it wrong and not getting the reference right?
