Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Also, a touch of Bhutan-gate at Veneto going out so early. Not impressed!

La Rioja because Veneto is awful, and La Rioja has four pretty colours and a decent crest in the middle. But mainly becuase Veneto is awful.

Actually, you can't quite see the greatness of the Veneto flag from that picture.

Actually if that was the flag it'd not have been so bad. Veneto awful, Venice not so bad.

    South Holland

The current flag was proposed by the provincial executive of South Holland 15 October, and passed by the States of South Holland on 24 October 1985. It was decided to change the flag into a yellow field with a red rampant lion–the old flag of the Counts of Holland, which according to tradition had been in use since the time of the Crusades. The lion was supposed to symbolize the "always victorious lion of Judah". The flag became official on 1 January 1986.

    Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur
On 12 January1999, Michel Vauzelle, President of the Regional Council of Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur presented the Region's new flag. It combines the traditional gold and red vertical stripes of Provence, the dolphin of Dauphiné and the eagle of the County of Nice.

Red and yellow on South Holland are annoying my eyes. Maybe if the yellow was more muted....

Badass dolphin and eagle flexing his muscles.

    Yep Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur for me.

    Brittany - very sinister.

Brittany, because it looks like the flag a cult would design after taking over a village. Mildly terrifying in black and white.

East Flanders, because I hate flags that have the name of the place on them.

Marche - its unique and a likely competition winner.

Also, how gorgeous are these silk flags? Wish I had have found this database earlier. Some of them really pop

Yes, they do really pop. Marche especially. Some Turkeys might not do much for. :)

East Flanders. It's a little scary and hectic, but better than the competition. The Marche features an unappealing pigeon with explosive diarrhoea. :(

East Flanders, good use of green and white together. Not a fan of flags with the name on them.

Agree about the wavy flags, they're excellent.

Canaries for me. Prefer the colour scheme and the place itself

  • Moderators, Recreation & Hobbies Moderators Posts: 16,287 Mod ✭✭✭✭quickbeam

I'd replace East Flanders with either of them, both are decent. But I prefer Abruzzo, as it has a nice, strong, bold colour scheme.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 7,265 Mod ✭✭✭✭cdeb

Yeah, agree on the Abruzzo colour scheme. Maybe it's just the new wavy flags that are doing it better justice here! The red really stands out well.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,037 ✭✭✭Cosmo Kramer

Both are decent. But I think I slightly prefer the Canary Islands one. The colours work well together and I like the crest.
