It's not if he's telling the truth or not, it's his beliefs. He is thinking 80+ deaths don't count as they may or may not die this year regardless (he's not god)
You start accepting some lives are more valuable over others (when you're not triaging patients, like Italy) then it's an issue.
That 80+ gets lowered to 75+ and then 65+ and so on. Then he's eating an sandwich and gets paged and says his sandwich is more important.
It's a slippery slope and no doctor should dictate government policy which costs lives. They would argue the opposite actually.

Thanks for the tip but I Got the same thing, wouldn’t let me toggle it in and says “ not available in your region”.

I deleted and reinstalled but that didn’t do anything. I compared with my wives and mine is definitely broken. I can’t make any changes to make it active

Well if you wear it, the fine and jail won't be a threat to you. That's the point of using them as an incentive so that you protect others and they protect you.

It's not an affront to your "freedom", we're not in America. It's to prevent viral particles from being exhaled by somebody who has covid and breathed in by somebody who may get sick or pass it on to someone else. That's what it's about.

There is an issue with Android phones worldwide, caused by a Google update. Call the HSE on 1850 24 1850 and they can talk you through it. To me, it sounds like your bluetooth setting has been turned off. Mine had the same popup this morning and my bluetooth was off - strange, because I hadn't suddenly turned it off in the middle of the night.

Just goes to show how much messing with your phone goes on when we are not even aware of it - by google and other apps and services that we all allow far more access to than maybe we really should.

Bottom line - get the Covid app back up and running anyway.

Why are you getting so upset about it? Is it because if your previous posts about there being no evidence to say they work but also that there isn't any that they don't?

I don't see the fear factor here at all. If anything the more people know that you could be fined etc. the better.

The fact that your talking about it means that they have done their job in their eyes.

They want you to pick up that paper and shock highlighting like this is how they do it. Once you always remember that the mainstream media are primarily out to make money and not ease the minds of the population, you'll save yourself a lot of stress.

You really don't get it do you? Nothing is guaranteed 'safe' to an individual. There are some things that are safer than others - less time in pub, less risk. No congregating in dressing rooms, less risk. Wearing a mask to catch droplets, less risk to others.

The sum of these measures results in fewer opportunities to pick up covid and potentially end up in hospital, not guaranteed safety for everyone. They're public health measures, not individual health measures.

Unbelievable really how easily people can't see the big picture.
