200+ cases in a day will be reported the week after next, if not earlier.
We won't see the effects of this cluster f*uck yet.

Don't give up the day job.

Any road 68 is "good", but it is Sunday. And as ever, it is about the trend, not the single days. The trend is still upwards, and tomorrow could be 200+ cases. There's no reason to change our position now and open up any further.

    Bang on as always.

If they didn't carry them over and verify all the results then tomorrow will be 200-300 positive cases

As I said no testing data for Sunday until Monday. Thin air until we see the postive swabs.

It's not "interesting", it's the view of one doctor who has views which are substantially different to the vast majority of other doctors and virus experts.

To be honest, I'm getting very annoyed by Swedish experts in general lecturing the rest of the world about how mild Covid is, considering the disgraceful way they allowed Covid burn through their vulnerable populations. They appear to have no sense of shame.

I found it interesting, but should have checked with you first to clarify it for me :)

How many times has this article been posted on the forum at this stage?

3 times. You made it a fourth and me a fifth. Very interesting article :)

68% of cases yesterday and 68% of cases today from LOK.

For those worried about increasing numbers, remember that they've brought back pub/restaurant closing by an hour. That'll stop it.

Friend of mine living in Kildare tipped down to Galway for a few days today with a load of his local mates, the tit.

    Some restriction measures.

Fairly jarring seeing such a long list of counties. Roscommon have lost over a month of consecutive case free days there as well.

Wow. Very high for a Sunday.

No it’s not. 53 last Sunday with a massive outbreak coming to light in LOK in the interim

It's still high for a Sunday.

I think we need to move back a step nationally. As said above about his mate heading off to Galway with his mates then this is clearly not going to work.

It's high for any day, it's got nothing to do with it being a Sunday.

Roscommon had gone 5 weeks without a case. Still only 2 confirmed cases there in the last 44 days they are doing a lot right since their own meat factory outbreak in April hopefully Laois, Offaly and Kildare do likewise now.

Remember the days people were up in arms about all the deaths we were having, don't hear nothing about the very low death rates being discussed.

Sunday has not been very low on case numbers relative to the rest of the same week throughout this outbreak. A couple of low Sunday /Mondays followed by high Tuesdays in July, but this changed last week where Sunday ran higher than than both Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday

No increase in Deaths yet is positive. A word of caution though in that the age profile is quite low of those newer cases, and it is usually around 3 weeks post infection when deaths show up. We won’t be seeing 3% plus of the recent cases dying however

Deaths stem from high risk settings in the immediacy but generally lag behind cases. Too many cases increases numbers with severe disease, which then increases strain on hospitals. If cases go too high, in a few weeks hospitals can become very busy and potentially overwhelmed, and that then increases the risk of death. So currently cases are the big concern as they may lead to increased deaths in the coming weeks and months that would have been avoided if case numbers are low.

Wexford cases still low, was there not talk of a cluster there the other day. Has it been contained?

That was supposedly a halting site, the +11 day. (I'm not sure if that's been officially confirmed) Then there was +2, +6 and today +1. Numbers aren't blowing up so hopefully that little cluster will be contained handily enough.

Cases in isolation aren't a bad sign. We are in the middle of a pandemic. People will die. The more people who get it without experiencing severe symptoms the better as far as I'm concerned.

Could be either but at the end of the day if the premises facilitates the spread of the virus it should be shut down permanently and that type of work environment should be banned across the country.

That's true. A joke that those facilities are still open. The ole corona be trucking along.

The recent cases aren't even making it to hospital. Very unlikely we will see any significant rate of deaths.

Would you kindly educate me, why do you think his LinkedIn profile is fake? All of the listed experience companies appear to be hospitals or medical companies.

I’m not doubting it, but I’m really curious.

It appears meat processing is an issue in many places. Not just us thick Irish as some here would have us believe
