The maskers are doing my nut in, went to get a Malbec for my steak in and out like Flynn as usual, a masker at the wine touching the front of her mask then touching the bottles having a look at them, then stood about a foot behind be in the Que. I'm about to clobber one of them soon.

A revival! You can find plenty of number guessing in some of the early threads.

72 positive tests I think I read earlier, so I'd guess 60+ cases being announced today

A systems audit would quickly identify whether a company had adequate policies and procedures in place, even when pre announced.

It could be some ****hole they are living in, in close quarters though no? As opposed to being the facilities at the company?

and we need to keep it that way. we know how fast this thing can spread. and we dont know how good our current control measures are.

Which is why we continually test trace track and review etc etc etc.

    They’ve lost count.

i'm just more cautious as regards "clusters" than some people who seem to think they are self contained and little cause for alarm. we will see in the next few weeks i guess.

It’s even like I see at work, great policies, procedures distancing measures, temp checking, contact logging and tracing, and then you walk outside to see 8 people from all over the plant crowded in a tiny smoking hut were 2 people would find in hard to distance. Ultimately with any system, the toughest variable to control is people

Well if contained properly and quickly by public health then they are of little cause for alarm in the general public in my opinion which is evident by minimal community transmission.

Look at the Sligo cluster for example a few weeks ago 14 cases, contained quickly and no impact in Sligo.

The current factory clusters are a tougher job for public health when you look at the amount of factories and direct provision centres involved but still little community transmission.

The fact that public health can trace the cases to clusters means they can contain them

Pre announced inspections are the most Irish thing ever. Essentially saying "we know you don't have things at the required standard, but we're obliged to inspect you, we'll come on this date, that way we've ticked our boxes and you won't hear from us again for X time, wink wink nudge nudge"

Wonder was it the same thing in Nursing Homes? Hiqa inspections I mean. I am not sure.

I'm fairly sure HIQA do unannounced inspections and then a scheduled one.
