Quite a few countries now looking at large case rises and the reintroduction of restrictions. Another town in Spain has been closed down.

He was probably complaining about the clowns who were never responsible and will never be responsible. Unlike most of us that poster really has made sacrifices over the past few months and I see nothing at all two faced about him wanting to do a low risk activity long after lockdown has ended. You sound very bitter, it's not good.

Not bitter at all. Since I've registered with this site I've been shocked at the number of Walter Mittys, WUMs, pseudo scientists, attention seekers, lonely souls, angry people and argumentative types who post almost 24 hours a day.

Then you have the group attacks on posters who link facts and try to provide good information and analysis. The baiting and goading to try to elicit infractions or thread bans. In the short while I've been on here I've seen some good posters simply give up in frustration. Just this week we witnessed a group attack on a young lad who only ever came on here to give figures and statistics.

But you know what? I'm not a bitter person, I'm actually quite personable and I know that the thing to do is not to respond to certain posts, this response being an exception, and to place a good portion of posters on ignore.

I will continue to read, enjoy and learn from the well intentioned posters, who, although they may be in disagreement with each other, mean well.

    Have a nice evening.

Pre announced inspections are the most Irish thing ever. Essentially saying "we know you don't have things at the required standard, but we're obliged to inspect you, we'll come on this date, that way we've ticked our boxes and you won't hear from us again for X time, wink wink nudge nudge"
Well, it's same logic behind the GoSafe vans, reform your behaviour or we'll fine you!

So you were a worrier during your teens and early 20s? Sorry to hear that.

Aye yeah. Lost my twenties completely. Leaves you feeling hurt and dark a lot of times

Oh well, not the thread for any of that.

Italy consistently reporting 100-250 or so for a good while now, small uptick in the last week and just cracked 400 cases for the first time since early June, which was a late reporting issue, end of May if you exclude that. Hopefully we're just seeing smaller bumps rather than the start of something much larger.

I don't want to be patronising but I wasn't a worrier at the age of 20 either, it's very very rare a 20 year old would be. At that age experiences are still coming your way all the time and you can make mistakes. As you age you worry more about losing things and people important to you.

Worrier since as early as can remember. Rough childhood. As the eldest took the burden of responsibility for my siblings in a household where alcohol took priority. Nothing has changed to this day at 33.

I'd give everything not to be what I am unfortunately it's engrained in my psyche. Those early experiences are the most vital in development.

Lucky you is all I can say. You're blessed.

Fewer now. Travel is not the issue here as it is now in Germany, with people coming back from a lot of red zones.

Well the Germans think they've got lax and there may be similar issues in other countries like France and Spain.

Not all it's cracked up to be. Bullying, beatings, harassment, mistreatment, disrespect, insecurity, depression, abuse, vicious rumours...All I've experienced from people throughout my life. It used to eat me up alive.

All of it still hurts but, in terms of worry, I literally couldn't give a **** anymore. If I'm evicted tomorrow, I don't care. If I get beaten up tomorrow, I don't care. It leaves you with a lack of energy, lack of confidence, lack of enthusiasm for anything.

The two things in life I found happiness in, the two escapisms I had in life, the virus took them from me so, to me, I have zero energy for caring anymore.

I realise that I've gone off an a tangent here but, to bring it back, that doesn't mean I don't care about others. Christ no! Any place I go, I always wear a mask, wash my hands and I always sit away from others. If I'm with people I make sure it's two people I know well so, if I got it, I know I am not spreading it to others and they'll be the first to know if anything happens so they can isolate.

Not really sure what the original point of this post was tbh

HSA need to get the finger out too.

It was asked in the Dáil a few weeks ago how many unannounced inspections of meat plants had been done. The answer was 0 but that they'd been doing pre announced inspections.

Sure what good is that, get everything up to scratch and tell everyone to be on best behaviour for 1 day only

A systems audit would quickly identify whether a company had adequate policies and procedures in place, even when pre announced.

Meat eaters, the cause of the crisis and reason for its persistence in Ireland.

We really should have listened when Eamonn Ryan told us to grow lettuces in our back gardens.

Spend a day in front of a HPRA auditor. They are by far and away the toughest autitors I have faced. They dig and dig until they find an inconsistency and then keep pulling at that thread and will ultimately get to the bottom of any issues. From someone I know working in Tusla, HIQA are very tough also.
