Mandatory wearing of masks in shops & shopping centres from 10th Aug, thought that was already the case

Kids education VS your pint ???

does it really need to be said to you?
The way its going it will be after Christmas before they can open fully.

    Agreed.
Good call on keeping the pubs closed IMHO.

He was responding to a poster that said there was no link to the decision for schools/pubs. There is from what I gather too.

Gibraltar off the green list when reporting 1 case a day recently and Monaco reporting 0 cases.

You actually couldn't make this up

he was also saying in his own special way that **** the kids , your fault for having them, open the pubs and **** the rest of the community , cause he needs his scoops :-(

The shops. Shouldn't be hard. I've forgot my mask the odd time nipping into a shop/offo and felt a bit bad but still went in because I'm a selfish human as are most of us.

If I was turned away at the door it would be the last time I forget my mask.

It's not in my own special way, I'm openly saying **** your kids....... I'm also well able to have scoops and pay for a meal, because I don't have kids that I expect the rest of society to bend over backwards for....

Not seeing the point of Donnelly talking - just repeating what MM said

So, and before I get attacked I am not complaining, do they believe schools opening is relatively safe given that they are telling people to avoid contact, or accepting that it is a necessary risk?

I would have thought loads of kids mixing and coming home every day to mammy and daddy, and mammy and daddy subsequently bringing their kids infections with them while going for a takeaway pizza in the local pub would have been a tad risky no?

My partner works in a small shop, hopefully she and the staff will refuse entry to anyone not wearing a mask. Simple.

And open up all the schools like some kind of a twisted science experiment.

Literally Varadker saying we're sacrificing pubs for schools

Well, putting a hold on further reopening to manage risk.

And there are 500k children in primary schools so more people affected so I can see why.

But it's a sh*t sandwich the publicans, and other people affected, are being served.

Im glad phase 4 is not happening.

But with an average of 40-50 cases which is still quite low.

What is the plan going forward to get to phase 4?
To do it safely we need to do what New Zealand have done.

But there is no mention of what the plan is?
    Unfair on pub owners,

    The shops. Shouldn't be hard.
And what do you do when people refuse? Do you physically stop them from entering your shop? Call the police?

  • Site Banned Posts: 5,975 ✭✭✭podgeandrodge

Taking out the clusters, is the general view that the introduction of masks in recent times has kept cases low, or has this had little impact? Do people think community transmission would be greater otherwise, or is it just an extra potential safety measure.
