Again, and for the last time, I did not draw a comparison to covid and the bubonic plague. I mean, there is a comparison to be made obviously as they're both plagues, but that is not what I did.
Carry on being dishonest about it though by all means.

As for citizen, well you know how we're all anonymous here?
I struggle to believe someone like that attends a University. I mean he plugged a conspiracy website earlier.
I mean no offense. I'm only going by what I see.

If he's in third level education, I'm a virologist

Whatever convoluted rambling point you're trying to get across could you please make it without repeatedly insulting citizen and his education please? It's not winning you the argument.

Maybe check the dictionary definition of a plague being a virologist and all that

Oh so now you care about the veracity of what people actually said?

Great! Nice to see you've turned a corner

Are you going to stop insulting people's education? Also stop trying to add meaning to your earlier inane post

Belittling someones education because they post a link and then remove it a few minutes later very classy. Guess your a virologist so

"I mean no offense", with your posts tonight I highly doubt that. Cant debate get personal.

As for your black death claim, you compared the two. Your post can be quoted if you want, but sure no doubt you'll deflect and get personal again.

Did I ever say only people in nursing homes died? Are you reading what I'm actually saying or your own version of it?
    LiquidZeb wrote: »
Well if the government hadn't dropped the ball on nursing homes and left them to fend for themselves our fatality rate would be much much lower. The 85+ demographic we're overrepresented in the cases and death rate throughout March to May.

You are the one that brought up the nursing homes.

I'm not sure what figures you're using, but as you mention "at it's worst", that was a peak, the US is having 1k+ a day for 5 days straight.
Let's not also forget the 2k+ deaths they had for 2 weeks already back in April.

The deaths per capita stats always puzzle me in a way. It's almost like the bigger the population the more acceptable the deaths are.

The death stat per capita only surprises those who dont understand it or statistics.

If a country has 10 inhabitants and 9 of those die from Covid, it doesn't mean they did better then Sweden who lost 5700 citizen's

Ah here, he contributes a lot and a lot on facts and figures.
He linked a conspiracy site earlier and within 5 mins of people calling it (calling it, not him) out, he removed the link. Had he tried to defend it, that be a different story.

Yeah, when you put it like that he's clearly a wonderful human and not at all full of crap.

He has been pushing the content of that website on this site for months now but how was he to know any better?

Anyway he's made a massive change since it was pointed out he's completely changed his tune.

    My bad

There should be separate threads really depending on people's level of education.

Yeah I brought up the nursing homes to make the point that they contributed heavily to our death toll as they did in Italy due to government ****ups regarding PPE and patient transfer. Nowhere did I say they were the only places people died which is the point you somehow took from what I was saying despite me explaining otherwise for the 3rd time now.

I'm not insulting his education. I'm just saying that we should all apply the same level of scrutiny towards people on here who claim they're doctors and those that claim they're in third level education.

There is absolutely no evidence of it being true

education doesn't mean anything, plenty of people out there with 3rd level education and thy still know f*ck all. Trump has a degree and look at him and then there is Dr Stella Immanuel

    Do it

We had many many days where our death rate (30-40) was half what the US is now currently reporting
NY alone in April was reporting 400-500 deaths a day, yet now the whole country is only reporting 1000
Florida with a largely elderly population is reporting a few hundred a day

Dunno what the "more acceptable deaths" part is meant to mean

Only reporting 1k+ a day so far. It's not going down, it's on it's way up.

The more "acceptable deaths" is people fixing on a per capita basis.
Only a few weeks ago Brazil had less deaths per capita than us, you could hardly say Brazil were doing better than us back then, could you?
If china announced 500,000 deaths tomorrow from Covid, they would still be doing better than Ireland on a deaths per capita basis.

He just said he was in his early twenties and in college, he wasn't bragging, he wasn't claiming to be Isaac Newton or anything. This is just stupid at this point.

I didn't know he was pushing content on that site for months, I thought it was just a once off slip up.

Jesus I miss Kermit, him just dropping random country stats with absolutely no context or background info use to stop everyone and get them focused on him lol.

Look we're all anonymous here and we have to be open to the fact that some people are not honest about their profession or education.

I just find it highly unlikely that that guy is educated.

I could be wrong of course, it just seems too outlandish

Your plenty of things and a virologist is not one of them.

Feel free to take it to PM if you wish, if not hopefully mods catch up with you in the morning.

If you want to report any of my posts feel free but you've gone personal all night long.

I too long for Kermit. He was bat**** but at least he was coherent. At the moment I feel like I'm talking to the wall.

I'm just dubious, Steve. You can't be too careful.

I REALLY don't think you can afford to knock anyone else's education. It's just coming across as passive aggressive and bitchy at this point.
