They have a very sad, dull life if that's their only social life.

Who are you to judge how people live their lives?

Just in relation to pubs and duration, there is also evidence that acute alcohol consumption can impair the immune response when exposed to pathogens, particularly as blood alcohol levels rise. This is particularly relevant for the pubs debate.

Regular alcohol consumption also has negative impact long term impacts on the immune response.

And the more you drink the more your judgement is impaired, more chance of not social distancing and being mindful of your actions.

I guess you don't live in rural Ireland. Might not be their only but its probably their main. What's your main social interaction if you mind me asking.

Who's at the top of the league today, is it Dublin or Kildare.

    Limerick with a late surge.

When is the hospital data released, I think those figures are more important.

9 cases located in Limerick, 8 in Kildare, 7 in Mayo, 6 in Cavan, 4 in Dublin - the rest spread across counties.

18 are associated with outbreaks or close contacts

I think the most surprising figures there are Limerick (who have had almost 20 cases over last 3 days) and Mayo

So the average 50 or 60 year old who has a few pints on a Friday or Saturday and meet a few people, what alternative social life do you propose for him.

I proposed that he should sit tight, remain part of the solution, and refrain from being part of the problem and possibly the cause of it.

If pubs were allowed open it would put an end to house parties and allow people enjoy themselves in a controlled way

What an awful thing to say.

If the government focus on increase numbers from clusters phase 4 will be delayed. If they focus on the low community spread, low hospital numbers some of the stuff in phase 4 should get the go ahead.

Almost as sad as those who spend their days on message boards fearmongering.

I'm not fear mongering. And I'm not spending my life on boards. It was noted a couple of days ago how I spent an evening away from boards. Nothing is good enough.

There's more to life than dissing old people and fearmongering online.

We have worse figures than from when they delayed it (average 20 a day, we're now at 44) - no way they will go ahead now
