Do I need your permission to comment? If you think I'm trolling report me.

I don’t know if you are trolling or not , only you can answer it . What I do know is that since early on in this crisis your posts have been very dismissive of people worries and anxieties . Maybe its your way in the real world and has transferred to here or maybe you are simply trying to get a rise from it . Who knows ?

To be fair, there is a number of posters on here who completely ignore any positive facts that don’t fit their narrative. You can’t deny that. It’s incredibly frustrating.

Yes . I understand that and its still no reason to be dismissive or rude or put people down . You have never felt the need to do that to make yourself feel better

I find that certain posters on here who have this whole fear narrative come across as very condescending and ignorant to other view points tbh but that’s just me.

I deal with numbers, which they choose to ignore most of the time.

I forgot this is just a joke to you.

Humour can help us stay upbeat. May even help with our sanity in trouble times.

People can be sensible dealing with covid and smile at the same time.

Me too. I was overnighting with some activist friends down in Cork the week before last. I could just about urinate. It isn’t so easy to hover while defecating so I didn’t bother and just tried to embrace the discomfort until I got back to Sandymount. Needless to say I shouldn’t have been greedy with the nut loaf the night before.

Had that been your 1st trip away since you enlisted to join the war on Covid Paddy?

No no no positivity or joking allowed here despite the fact our hospitals are virtually empty and the majority of cases for the past week have been confined and controlled by the hse

Great article posted in the vaccine thread

Scared That Covid-19 Immunity Won’t Last? Don’t Be.
Dropping antibody counts aren’t a sign that our immune system is failing against the coronavirus, nor an omen that we can’t develop a viable vaccine.

Why are you in here all day. You dont seem interested in any information it's just to wind people up as far as I can see.

I honestly think anyone suggesting wearing goggles outside is a wind up

I respect what needs to be done to minimise spread of the virus, I 'm also aware whom are most at risk from the virus plus I also know it is far to early to know what permanent damage may be caused to the very small percentage who may suffer adversely from it. However I don't seek reasons to terrify myself or others.

I was speaking to a couple from Bergamo last night.
They know a ton of people who are still banjaxed from covid. And not just those that were hopitalised.

I don't know that many people that caught the virus, but yet I know multiple people suffering long term effects. One of which, a 25 year old woman, is in a terrible state and we're all deeply worried about her.

Nobody has yet been able to quantify what percentage of people go on to endure long covid , except for you of course with your "very small percentage".

This from the CDC is not a very satisfying study in terms of answering the question, but may give some indication.

"In a multistate telephone survey of symptomatic adults who had a positive outpatient test result for SARS-CoV-2 infection, 35% had not returned to their usual state of health when interviewed 2–3 weeks after testing. Among persons aged 18–34 years with no chronic medical conditions, one in five had not returned to their usual state of health."

Are people who express anxiety regarding going into public toilets also on a windup ? Do they deserve smart alexy replies ?

Yeah these specific posters have been on about public toilets for months. Literally they have not stopped talking about them.

I'm sure you believe what you are saying but i'm afraid there is not a hope of what you are suggesting happening.
A large minority? What a strange term.

A "large minority" is an utterly normal term.

Black people in the US would constitute a large minority for instance.
Weird that you think the phrase is strange. You must be in a small minority of people who don't understand it.

What I find strange is people that are so worried about the virus forget that fear causes stress which in turn affects the ability of the immune system to operate optimally.
Behaving sensibly is what I feel works, irrational fear and seeking to find the worst possible outcomes can impact both physical and mental health.
Anyway appreciate the facts you post particularly your explanation in figures.

This micromanagement aspect that some people seem to be actively looking for is very strange. Do people really need/want to be told how to go to the toilet or how to blow their noses?

The sooner people learn to get on with life the better, all of this nonsense is not good for you as PlumbTheDepths said above

Flu levels in Australia are practically zero, I expect the same to happen in the coming months in the northern hemisphere winter , social distancing mask wearing etc ... have /will pretty much kill off the flu.

Now here is what worries me, a lot of people die every year from the flu, will they decide to continue this mask wearing / social distancing protocols even when the global population is vaccinated (assuming that happens) ?

Imagine the amount of money the health services would save every year would be the argument, I can see this happening in places like the UK where it's very authoritarian ....

Fear is a hugely important and valuable emotion in an evolutionary sense. It's often what keeps you safe from danger.

It's particularly useful during a pandemic.

If it's genuinely absent in you I'd worry for your prospects, and the prospects of those who know you.

The largest cluster in the Melbourne Australia outbreak is linked to a school.

184 cases have been linked to Al-Taqwa College according to today's report from the Victoria Department of Health and Human Resources.

But the boards experts are telling everyone kids aren't spreaders, surely they are correct?

And others think differently to you. You've been dismissing people and mocking them all morning and there's no reason to be like that because of the way you think.

    - don't lick toilet seats
    - bring your own toilet lid
    - if it's a number 2, bag it and bring it home
    - wear a hazmat suit
    - suba tank and regulator
    - asking someone are they going to keep their child home until their 18
I think this is a good suggestion. Also masks and goggles.

I had actually thought you had joined in the fun for a minute with that post!

Did you have a look at this school college? The majority of the students are aged 16 to 18. Nobody has said that age group were not spreaders.

Agreed, but if it's a number 2 bag it and bring it home. No one wants to walk in that.

Damn right! This very week I went to avail of one of the lovelier leafy pee plazas on my work route and some savage had curled out a gigantic burnt offering to Baal right in the middle of the entrance way to the woods. Monsters like that should have their noses pushed in it!
