We don't hear a lot of advice on toilets. I am terrified of public or business toilets, especially the cubicles where people defecate.

I was away for a few days and had to use public toilets on the journey .I took two Dettol wipes in my pocket .Opened the toilet door with one and wiped the seat with it . I used to other then to press the flush and open the door , discarded both in the bin and washed my hands then sanitized them once out of the door .

Just pee in the woods. Public toilets are gick.

JFC... everyone involved in the vaccine making programs are optimistic about achieving a vaccine. Even Fauci agrees it will be here by end of 2020. But no the guys and gals of boards.ie have decided they are going to stick to their negative, depressing and grim outlook.
Like why would you choose to be pessimistic about this vaccine? The vaccine is the only way out of this absolute
    s**tshow.
Are you loving the fact that we are living like this?? Anyone surely wanting out of this is going to be praying and hoping for one...not coming up with endless reasons why the phd scientists are wrong and they can't make one.

I dunno Fauci and Oxford are good and all but clearly theyre no match for the boards.ie institute of misery, piss and vinegar.

Not all toilets have toilet seat. And if they do, the person before you have to put down the lid and people are selfish with all this, so that won't be happening.

A report from the CDC on a kids camp in Georgia, with a 44% infection rate. Lots of kids close together doing typical camp activities and a suggestion that the view of the possible role of kids in this may not be not fully accurate.

We were told from the early days of this virus emerging outside of China, that children don't seem to get this virus, they don't get it as bad, they don't spread it.

I was never able to get this and how can we possibly rely on statistics coming out from China when they dealt with the virus differently. They had isolation centres for people who were sick. So the virus never had the chance to gain a foothold within family units in China. The rest of the world was told to self isolate at home away from the rest of your families. Not everyone has the ideal living situations with en suite bathrooms for each sick person. The virus is going to spread around more here within family units.

What advice do you need? Don't lick the seat prehaps.
    Flush and wash your hands.

    You haven't mentioned ventilation.

Nobody seems too interested in ventilation. Countless places I have been in with signs on walls, windows, floors etc telling people about 2 meters. But those places have all their windows shut. I dont believe they all have highly advanced ventilation systems.

I think this is a good suggestion. Also masks and goggles.

Agreed, but if it's a number 2 bag it and bring it home. No one wants to walk in that.

Schools all over Europe have been opened with little impact on the spread of the virus apart from isolated cases of infection spikes. It seems that it just takes some minor adjustments in the normal school routine to prevent significant spikes.

Of course children can spread the virus to some degree but it is clear that the significant spreaders are adults doing things like going to packed pubs and working in environments with little social distance.

From what we know at this moment, it is clear that the schools should reopen.

47% of Israel's June cases, which began their second wave were infected in schools. They are now in the middle of a massive second wave. Reopening schools was an absolute disaster for Israel.

That did not happen anywhere in Europe. Obviously, there was something different in the Israeli schools that facilitated their outbreak.

So are you going to keep your child at home until they are 18?

Religious gatherings . Although this second wave hysteria when the virus was still present is amusing.

My child most probably had Covid already. He can go around licking walls, Covid likely poses no risk to him and he likely can't pass it on to anyone else. He'll go back to school when they reopen. But our school reopening plan isn't good and nearly 1/3 of yesterday's cases were community transmission. There is a more than reasonable chance that we will see clusters in schools and schools will have to close again. Anyone with a school child who is not preparing for that eventuality is deluding themselves. It will be great of schools can stay open but realistically they may not.

The schools there reopened without precautions, with hooks to hang their masks on, all the masks on top of each other, bonding exercises etc.

The schools will stay open, outbreaks will be dealt on a local basis. Why would you expect schools in Mayo to close if there was a cluster found in Louth. Children's mental health and education is important.

Incorrect the schools were reopened with unworkable guidance which mimics ours.

They will be reopening again in September hopefully, with completely different workable guidance.

I imagine something we will eventually mimic.

    Flush and wash your hands.

Close the lid before flushing after you use the toilet
Very simple advice that could reduce the spread but most people don’t think of doing

"Has there ever been an organisation in human history that is dedicated, with such commitment, to the destruction of organised human life on Earth?"
