Thanks Sam. Would have hoped tesco would have initiated the 28 euro slabs from today. Doesn’t bode well. Maybe tomorrow.

BTW haven’t any Dunnes vouchers. Is there a way to get them.

Tesco slabs were on offer on Tuesday. Well the Stella 24 for 25 was on anyway. Running till the 4th I think if I read the code properly.

    Redmonds Ranelagh:
    Veltins 500ml can 4pack for 8euro
    Jever pilsner 500ml bottle 4 for 10euro

Veltins is decent but not worth more than €2 a can anyway.

Spaten is nicer and always €10 for 5 in Dunnes.

    Tesco:
Carlsberg and Bud, 24 cans for €25
Heineken and Bulmers, 24 cans for €28.

The below is a general 'signature' and not part of any post:

FYI, if you move to a 'smart' meter electricity plan, you CAN'T move back to a non-smart plan.

You don't have to take a 'smart' meter if you don't want one, opt-out is available.

Buy drinks in 3L or bigger plastic bottles or glass bottles or cartons to avoid the DRS fee.

Are they 250ml or 330ml cans?

It's actually quicker to click on the link than to reply to the thread and type out "Are they 250ml or 330ml cans?"

To keep on-topic, I may buy 6 tomorrow. Have never heard of them but for the price they are "ok"

Spaten is one of the best beers on the market in my opinion. Aldi do the 500ml bottles for 10 also.

Not if they're on a work PC and shopping sites are blocked :)

I spent a summer working in Munich 31  years ago - I didn't like any of the crappy lagers on the Irish market, but that stuff was like nectar. I couldn't imagine being able to buy it in my local supermarket back home :)

    Probably posted already.

White claw is 6 for €10 in Tesco. €3.50 each so it's a pretty decent deal.

Chinese beer Tsing Tao in lidl, 6 330cl bottles for €6.99.
Also they had kingfisher, first time I ever see this in Dublin supermarket. But it was near €2 for a 33cl bottle. They also had Vietnam beer can’t remember name, and Changi of Thailand, and Sapporo from japan, tho I prefer asahi over Sapporo. All similar price to kingfisher tho so not bargains.

I used to drink the big bottles of kingfisher on the island of Diu for equivalent of about 40cent so I just couldn’t pay €2 for a 33cl.

Seems to be Seltzer season. As well as the White Claw Tesco also have:
    * Kopparberg hard seltzer 330ml, 3 for €9
    * Barefoot wine seltzer 250ml, 4 for €9

I will give it a go this evening, 2 of each flavour for variety, lol.

    Report your findings :-)

My Review, drank in this order (for clarity no other alcohol was consumed prior to the test)
Lime...Pish, tastes like sparking water with a weak table spoon of lime. I was expecting this flavour to be best.
Raspberry...Like a very watered down Mr Freeze of the same flavour, better than the Lime.
Black Cherry...Nicest of them, doesn't seem as much gas in it as the others.

Overall gassy stuff, you couldn't drink it the same pace as beer. If you were on it all night I'd say you would need to be pumped out, perhaps it's more of a 2 or 3 drinks a session type of drink.

    Cheers for the review:

I tried that Mil spritz Rosa once and it was nice enough - Tesco have it on sale now at 4 for €9.
I only had one but thought it was nice and the flavour wasnt too overbearing or anything.

Caveat to the above is that I 'd had half a bottle of wine & 2 whiskeys before but I still remember the drink as nice.

    More Seltzer on special..

Smirnoff Rhurbarb & Raspberry / Orange & Grapefruit Hard Seltzer - 6 for €10 in SuperValu

Missus has tried most of these seltzers and reckons White Claw is the worst of them.

The Orange & Grapefruit Smirnoff is actually one of the tastiest.. other ones she recommends aren't as commercially available include SKA (Hibiscus Lime / Blood Orange) and also Wild Basin. SKA and Wild Basin are in Stephen St Mews / Craft Central.
