Current restrictions of 50 people in indoor gatherings, 200 at outdoor gatherings is being extended until 10 August.

That must effect a few races

Tallaght 5km gone due to this

I'd say every race that was supposed to be on before August 10 will now be cancelled.

    The year is gone lads.
It's only going to go south from here.
Once we get into Sept the planning for flu season will be kicking in and we will be lucky to not be back to the 5km local restrictions.

Tallaght AC 5K is now on the 16th of August, should get an email this morning from Pop Up Races with an option to receive your money back excluding booking fee or else keep your entry

Hopefully it will go ahead but I doubt the government will raise the numbers for out door events in August

How many tickets or entries did Tallaght AC 5k sell? I see it's sold out?

The reason I'm asking is I'm near a local community race on the Bank Holiday Monday 3rd August. They were planning on selling 300 but probably aren't even half way yet in terms of tickets sold (rural Ireland) and I don't personally think it will sell out. Maybe 200 or 250 at best. Trying to figure out should they delay it by two weeks, cancel or reduce the numbers by half and make less money.

400 places so was always going to sell out

No guarantee that the restrictions will be lifted to allow 500 at an outdoor event in 3 weeks either.

I’m happy to pay that for an actual race.

Not sure what your point is in a thread about Post C19 races

    TbL

The point is fairly clear - €25 for a 5k is a rip off.

If an Athletics Club are using a race to raise funds I’ve no problem paying €25 euro to support them. (Especially in this time of crisis)

You obviously do, maybe start an outrageous price gouging thread
