A expected Tuesday rise on cases. The 7 day average is 19 cases per day so would expect 20 or less cases tomorrow.

Well let's be honest there wasn't 40 cases in the last 24hrs. Its bulk reporting yet again
Don't they mainly talk about 5 or 7 day averages now?

Couldn't have put it much better myself. There's some weird reporting method in place throughout the weekend into Monday & Tuesday

71 positive tests last 72 hours and 63 reported... lines up perfectly once again

They need to communicate that I think. Dunno do they expect journalists or public to know it but needs to be spelled out by them

Pain in the arse last 3 weeks though with numbers seemingly held back to Tuesday constantly and reported in bulk

Any update on numbers in ICU?

6 in ICU. 10 in hospital (including the 6 in ICU). Very low.

It's causing mass panic, I don't know if the HPSC realise that. I just went on Facebook and my eyes nearly bled.

TBF, the urgency for precise daily data has gone. Now it's about weekly trends and R0 not going mad.

Why a delay in reporting? :o:confused:

    At least no deaths

They are well aware of this and yet they do nothing to correct it. Therefore, one can't help thinking that it is by design.

It's baffling that somebody on boards or twitter can easily identify this yet the HSE are happy enough to realise inaccurate daily figures

Yes. I think Sunday, Monday and Tuesday are to be taken as one now, divided by 3. So 21 each day.

Yup a quick look at the retweets of Richard Chambers tweet is essentially people losing the head while not realising at all what way the numbers are being reported

Bascially bang on average for the last while

Can we recognise that it looks like they're trying to scare people now?

Has to be the case. It’s obvious at this stage Tuesdays are the day for the big number. Again why not split the cases from the weekend from Sunday to Tuesday!!
We’ll have a figure at around 10 tomorrow after the 16 positives today

Yup. On one hand it's good that we know and it's up to us to spread the word to family etc and try to get the media to realise, but like it's getting beyond the joke at this stage.

Besides the bulk Germany reporting at the beginning, this NEVER ever happened before 4 weeks ago.

16 positives refers to yesterday, they're included in today's figure

    Panic at the 40 number

A few weeks ago we had cases under 10. Past few weeks, maybe 20-30. Now it's 40. It's just increasing and not everyone going for tests when they should be.

Every reason to panic and get some control. We cannot afford the country shutting down. Just mask the fcuk up and stay away from people.

People who think "they" are manipulating numbers to scare people, what benefit would they derive from it?

I propose that we get Stephen and ACE to be part of the briefings as just saying 40 cases without the underlying data leads to panic. I'm so glad I got rid of Facebook years ago.
