Sold yesterday some KHC at 33 that I got for 26 some months ago. What are people looking at today?

A poster a few weeks back touted Livongo, I've been in it since mid May (about $60), been up about 60% in the past month, and jumped a lot after they increased revenue guidance last week.

They're a medical device company, use apps/technology to monitor things like Diabetes. Huge market, and they are capturing huge numbers of customers.

They were $114 at the peak Monday, took a drop since then, but should be about $100 today. Definitely a dip I'd recommend buying. It's my 3rd biggest holding

At least he's putting his own money on the table, but yes I saw it myself yesterday and was unimpressed. Rhetoric if anything but maybe the man is as optimistic as he sounds.

It isn't by any means my largest investment but it is one I'd be confident of a good end of year return even at current prices.

Looks like a well timed nudge there @Kilboor, thanks dude. Picked up a few Providence myself close of business yesterday, SP up 6% today.

Might get a few more if there's any kind of dip in the next few weeks?

Hopefully get a dip soon. I'm going to liquidate my GameStop holding (Break Even) and buy more providence.

A lot of people discussing Vaccine availability and different companies proposals and how they effect the market etc.
There is a very good 5.38 minute video on the below link explaining the full process from Euro News. There is accompanying text but I won't copy and paste it in as it is quiet long.

sold my NASDAQ: AAL good to take profit when u can...who knows whats around the corner.

UPDATED: 30 MIN before market closes: #Earlier i sold my holding in American Airlines as it met my plan earning/profit >=$1 a share, even though the share price went up after i sold them.
its important to have a exit plan if your actively trading. long term investing is best in my experience but for me at the moment im trading as the fatague of this covid is only starting to hit the economy/people IMO...
just saying this as i feel there is a few people here who are new to this whole game - BEFORE YOU BUY HAVE A EXIT PRICE YOU ARE HAPPY WITH ..rather then following greed is good :-)

  • Registered Users Posts: 243 ✭✭hottipper

If you don't mind, could you give some explanation to that graph?

so the bottom indicator is a anchored vwap day traders use it alot for finding entries/exits. i don't day trade but still use it.
blue green and purple are Emas 12, 21, 55
    Red line is the 200
the yellow x's are failed macD crosses (exit signals)
over on the right you got session volume points at which there is alot of trading activity, most is sitting at the 0.618 retracement level (now resistance)
    candle sticks are heiken ashi
i'm just hoping price stays above the ema's and we get above the resistance levels, if it comes back to touch the emas and rsi is below 30 ill add to the position breaks below ill exit, rince/repeat till it works.

There are two stock markets imo.

    1. Covid affected and long term holds.
    2. Bull Market ripe for serious correction, over inflated by cheap money, low/negative interest rates. At some stage the music will stop and someones going to be landed with a nasty surprise.

This penny stock( Magnus ASX ) was mentioned on here a couple of years back and I decided to go long.

    What I like:
3 Li Gigafactories in the pipeline in Germany, Australia and US. Musk says he will need more than just his own gigafactories to serve his own needs , especially if he rolls out his solar panels for houses on a large scale.
Graphite mine in Tanzania with seemingly good quality.

What I don't like is it's a roller coaster in the early stages.
    Tanzania can be politically unstable.

Anyhow, the stock has been in the doldrums for a while and is picking up steam again, but I can't find out why ( manipulation!!).

NBRV - gone baloobas after yesterday's deal announcement. I've a feeling the FDA approval (whenever it arrives) will be a sell the news event so might be time to sell the last of them.

Was watching as a mate of mine still holds it. Very unexpected news! Fair play for anyone still holding.

I held onto some and should have followed my own advice and picked up more in the 60's. A moral victory is worth sweet fa.

It looks like Electric Car manufacturer Fisker has teamed up with Spartan Acquisition company. The CEO seems credible as designer of the Z8, Aston Martin vantage to name a few. Cars look good too.

If this goes the way of the most recent food related Spac's never mind electric cars it could be worth a punt.

I read up on this one actually, it's a bit different for 2 reasons:
    1. They aren't building their own assembly factories, but rather using a load of sub contractors who will assemble them, the final "putting it together" step is even outsourced.
    2. They aren't selling cars in the traditional manner, their prime model is lease-based, where the minimum lease is one month. I'm not sure how that works with reselling cars.

I haven't bought, as I'm a little sceptical of both points, plus the CEO said that the move to go public was quite a quick one, which makes me believe they're trying to piggy back off the Tesla/Nikola buzz to get a bump.

Personally I like the outsourced model, apparently VAG are supplying the skateboard. Look at the hassle Tesla had in the early days.

Anyway short term I'm also trying to ride the wave of the Tesla/Nikola buzz, if the US boards are anything to go by there's huge early retail investor interest.

I had an opp to by into Nikola @ 13 and passed, also sold my Tesla @ 860 when they dropped back from 1K so this could be the chance to rectify :) or not!

I got them other day in the hope of riding the EV Wave...as I jumped out of NKLA too early and missed the NIO wave

Yeah, same as that. Have a buy in, hoping for a dip today after a strong day yesterday.. it never went there, and just took off.

Going to let what I have ride and see where it goes.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,857 ✭✭✭Atlas_IRL

Bought in at $19 then averaged that down to $16 when it dipped. Fisker has had a failed car company in the past but i have looked at this one a lot and i like it.

They are looking to use VW's new MEB battery platform to cut market time in half https://www.volkswagenag.com/en/group/fleet-customer/facts_and_figures/MEB.html

The SUV price is also really good and the leash options is class. Give the car back anytime! https://www.marketwatch.com/story/fisker-is-going-public-five-things-to-know-about-the-electric-car-maker-ahead-of-its-ipo-2020-07-14?mod=mw_more_headlines

Yeah, bought in myself to Tawana, NZC and Magnis back there a year or two ago when there was a buzz around Lithium and battery tech etc.

NZC in fairness, paid off nicely.

But the other two were a disaster. Tawana a complete wipe-out and Magnis not far off it.

Would be very wary of investing in ASX again.
