Has anyone read the article where they analysis three outbreaks in different indoor settings?

Essential reading and really well presented, with interactive visuals to demonstrate how it spread in a restaurant, bus and open-plan office and what were key factors of spread.

'An analysis of three Covid-19 outbreaks: how they happened and how they can be avoided'

Agreed, education is key. If you don't educate people as to why certain measures are being taken by highlighting the risks in an easy to digest way, then the risk of non-compliance increases. I would argue that all businesses including those set to reopen on Monday should circulate this to their staff.

I think the virus can easily outlast any countries ability to lock-down. Even Australia has seen spikes on easing restrictions. Isolate the identifiably vulnerable, institute mask wearing in enclosed spaces, grit our teeth and get back to it.

Seems to be concern with NPHET with travel cases. Thought the idea for green list was that countries would have similar prevalence rate so be ok'ed by them. Wonder what the messaging will be around foreign travel? https://twitter.com/President_MU/status/1277206296106844166?s=19

I feel Professor Nolan is using graphs to support the message he and Tony are currently trying to persuade people with as regards travel - why not give the actual numbers and let people make informed decisions? As we have been informed before as numbers get smaller a couple of unusual results can give a false picture - Found this image on twitter -

Today’s case figure is the lowest we have reported since March.

Same thing three weeks in a row with a big jump on Saturday of numbers that should have been reported on Thursday and Friday. With no feckin HPSC data it makes it very difficult to get a clear picture of the situation.

Would be lovely if this was the whole thing going away... Imagine, two cases no deaths tomorrow, one case on Tuesday and then that's it. Awwwww ppppft.

Are they are lowest numbers yet?

ETA: Just saw your clarification, brilliant numbers. Condolences to one person who died and their family of course.

There's clearly an issue with reporting on Saturday's that they're not telling us about. Saturday is consistently the highest case number each week.

One denotification means it is +2 for today, total 25,439 cases

3 cases is very low, thankfully

    This also;

validation of data at the HPSC has resulted in the denotification of 1 confirmed case.

Encouraging numbers today. The weekly total remains at very low levels and lower than last week.

The "technical issue" in the labs appears to not be so techincal.

Would love to know why on Saturday any backlog seems to get cleared. Now it could well be natual as the nursing home testing started up but theres a trend on Saturdays for some reason

Very encouraging to have just 67 weekly cases from over 20,000 tests.

This is a very important note - testing increased significantly this week and even with yesterday's figure we still reported very very little cases.

I wonder if there's an issue with the HPSC tbh, we haven't had county data in 2 days, and the COVID dashboard hasn't been updated since Friday.

We know the new rhetoric already. Lets ban travel and totally kill off the aviation industry in Ireland while we are at it. Everyone stay home and get ripped off by 130 euro a night b and b's.

I don't think that is fair comment

I accept it's a bit dramatic but I think it's accurate. The s##t will hit the fan for our airports workers (not to mention all those involved in MRO) when the wage subsidy scheme is gone at the end of August and people start losing their jobs. Tony doesn't have such worries

Things changed quickly from "let's open the economy and help Irish businesses by holidaying in Ireland" to "let's support the aviation industry, Ireland is a rip-off".

When I go on holidays, I don't pretend it's for the greater good.
