Maybe. But I expect any professional sportsperson who relies on their lungs for their income would be pretty nervous after a positive test. There have been plenty of reports of pretty long-lasting lung damage for many, and no-one knows yet what the long-term impact will be of an infection.

There were loads of premier League, Serie A, Bundesliga and La Liga players and managers who tested positive and are all back playing with no ill effects.
Didn't half the players in some Serie A teams test positive?

Haven't heard of one even hospitalisation.

I'd say he'll be grand

It's NPHET(National Public Health Emergency Team)! l'd let the poster off on that. Lots of voices floating around about this!

Was in town (Dublin) earlier, it’s still depressing and somehow feels like it’s getting worse if anything…hordes of masked zombies shuffling through litter-strewn streets, queuing outside some of the open shops as though they had never known anything else, and somehow it seemed like there were more homeless and junkies around than usual…many premises still shuttered and boarded up, and that dreadful atmosphere of collective self-abandonment, of fear and decay permeating everything like some miasmic fog…these truly are desperate times, and I am getting worried this might indeed be the “new normal” our overlords keep talking about...
So you didn't repeatedly call a poster talking about struggling under lockdown an attention seekers on the restrictions thread? The thread you were later banned from for saying someone should be attacked with a cut throat razor? If you want to attack my posts we may as well revisit your greatest hits while we're at it.
That`s right. I didn`t, That must have been some other poster. Try to get something straight pal. Seeing as you were banned from that thread long before I was that comment is laughable though predictable for you. Anyway I have better things to be doing than indulging you in your bull****e. Take it easy bud.

For all the hullabaloo about it. In 2 weeks time when every single person is fine with little to no sickness, side effects or symptoms it will be forgotten about and we will move onto someone else to complain about.
Agree, there will be some other bad boy in a couple of weeks.

You got a site-ban though, a bit more serious than a thread-ban

I starting to think you should address the comment instead of the poster.
Well it's just that all the little tales you've told us over the last couple of months, if all that happened to a guy in ten years I'd call him the unluckiest person I know and it's all recent with you.

No it was some other lad called Corkboy53. Next he'll go full OJ Simpson and tell us what he would've done if it was actually him.

Don't know about masked zombies. There isn't many wearing them.

As for queues they're alot quicker moving than they were a week ago, seems like shops are letting more in

OK. Find any post where I called a single mother an attention seeker and link to it here if you are so cock sure of yourself. If you can find one I will withdraw my comment.

What about the cut throat razor comment? I thought you didn't do that either ?

I'm not sure this is the way to go. Not on its own unless people are being tested on arrival or have to show negative test result on arrival from high risk countries. https://www.thejournal.ie/aviation-taskforce-recommends-easing-restrictions-1-july-5130684-Jun2020/?utm_source=twitter_short

Yes, high risk countries such as the USA/Brazil and for another while the UK should not have free reign without a test or quarantine, but I've no issues with free travel to countries with similar levels of infection to us per capita where you're as likely to pick it up here as there.

I'd be nervous about people coming in from the UK for another month or so until their numbers continue on the downward trend and from the USA/Brazil until a point they get their outbreaks under control, but don't see the issue with visiting Germany/Spain/Italy/Swiss etc.

As we learn to live along side this virus until we have a vaccine we'll have to be selective about where we go, and be more nuanced than just blanket bans.

If the risk in some countries is equal to here then it makes no sense not to have unrestricted travel, if the risk is elevated then we have to look at measures such as quarantine or a test or in certain cases, a ban until it improves.

However we can't continue with blanket restrictions, we need to selectively open up to low risk areas and activities.

Yeah I posted this for the humour aspect, I don't agree with him - allthough I can understand the frustration.

Tonight is San Juan in Catalunya, big celebrations, we can expect some spikes over the next few weeks in Catalunya/Valencia regions ... :(

I’ve been on this thread from the beginning and I think I’ve had enough now, the fear mongering is utterly ridiculous and is driving the thread into the dirt. Some people would want to take a good look at themselves.

I must say yourself and stephenjmcd have been superb posters on this forum and are the only reason i come back to it. You both have been providing great information for the last several weeks.

I contend that it is appreciated by the huge majority posters and readers alike.

Apologies it was Mr. McConkey, don;t see how "yet again I was wrong though" I was just wrong about who released this

McConkey was wrong (by a long way) on his back-of-a-fag-packet calculation, and RTE shouldn't have publicised his statement.

The HSE's estimate here doesn't include asymptomatic or undetected.

Bit of an upswing for the USA and Germany (localised issues I imagine), the UK are advocating being patriotic by all going to the pub soon. Presumably sing songs will follow, which are banned at masses.

The US is fast becoming an almighty mess. They really needed a bit more holding firm and the rapid reopening looks like unravelling in quite a few places. They could still have issues at the end of the summer.

What little tales? Are you making up stuff to try and score points?
As I said if you have an issue with my comments by all means point out the issue, but I suggest you leave the personal stuff out. It usually ends with the Mods getting involved.

Interesting to note the responses to Johnson's relaxation - both the Scottish and Welsh governments plan to stick to 2m distancing, highlighting that none of the measures apply to England, and Foster merely stating that Stormont will discuss it in due course.
