Yes, less than 10 cases according to Prof Nolan

Why are we allowing people from Sweden when their nearest neighbors expressly forbid it?

Are we afraid of hurting feelings again?

Two of the best performing countries! Ironic that we imported cases from Sweden.

There needs to be a sarcasm font!

A list needs drawing up of nice and naughty countries.

Dr Tony Holohan says we will not need full lockdown if second wave hits Ireland
The Chief Medical Officer said that they now know much more about the virus than they did in March when restrictions first came in to place.

He said that if a second wave did occur, they would not need to implement the same level of restrictions.

"I wouldn't be anticipating at this point in time that we would be moving back to blanket closures in the way we did in March," he said.

"What we what we will be doing over the next couple of weeks is meeting with NPHET (National Public Health Emergency Team) and looking at a scenario where we have a resurgence of the disease, what measures we will take or what would be appropriate," Dr Holohan told RTE radio.

"If a resurgence of the disease happened or a second wave, we would know what specific measures to take, having done our work proactively.

The criteria that would necessitate a second lockdown has not been formulated by NPHET yet - they are discussing it at the moment.

The 'messaging' from NPHET so far seems to indicate (to me) that we will get some sort of half-lockdown or limited set of restrictions in the event of a second wave.

Kermit de frog's criteria for a second lockdown - 300 cases - is unsatisfactory to me, and I would like to know are we ('we' meaning posters on this forum, not NPHET or the country as a whole) still basing our assumptions around infections, spread, deaths etc. on the epidemic models that were formulated back in March? And if so, why?
Without a shift in strategy, Sweden was predicted to exceed 40,000 deaths by May and 100,000 by August. (Imperial College London model)

Or it may not be. Very low levels because there is very low levels of travel.

At some stage an adult is going to have to sit down and draw up a list.

The pinky please self isolation method is not a winner.

I think so, there needs to be very strict monitoring of people moving between there and here. We've made very good progress over the last few weeks and it would be a shame to see it unravelling.

If we see the same sort of travel cases over the next two weeks I think we’ll see some sort of action taken. Less than 10 cases so far so just one to watch out for.

Looks like there's very specific geographic data now for anyone interested

I think it's very difficult with the amount of Irish people living and working there and people commuting. Not sure how you could make all of them self-isolate. Guess when flights resume properly importing cases may be inevitable unfortunately.

It was definitely held back for undue panic or people making their own judgement of risks.

Passenger flights to Oslo, Helsinki and Copenhagen from Stockholm tomorrow and everyday. Yet none at all to Ireland at anytime in the next 5 days

Not sure how that's the case as close contacts % of total continues to grow quite quickly, and community transmission is decreasing quite quickly. Furthermore, Prof. Nolan says: "It is heartening to see that none of the data suggests that there is a significant increase of transmission of COVID-19 in the community since the commencement of Phase 2."

    Brilliant thanks

Fascinating to see at a local level

My town had 57 cases but that's astonishingly low for our population

The map would be great if it showed active cases

I was involved in the testing of it last two weeks and it's basically ready, besides the actual bluetooth integration. I assume that's what's holding it back.

Not so ready. It wouldn't work at all on a large number of phones. I was involved in testing as well and they made several attempts to download the app without success to many phone - or so they told me when it failed on mine three times.

Downloading issues are not to do with the app, that's to do with whatever platform it was hosted on. The app will be on the App Store / Play Store when it's released. I have an iPhone and it worked flawlessly.

Great but no much use if a significant number can't use it, surely.

The app that we trialled was a 'dummy' one, for behavioural testing. It didn't do any actual contact tracing etc.

The Gardaí are trialling the real one.

This data combined with an app that updates with active cases could be a good tool to help with containment

Found out that there was/ is a minimum of 10 infections in the estate around the corner from us and at least another 21 down the road from us.
Handy to have but quite invasive for those cases as I could make out which houses were affected
