Emboldened above is a study on sheer outright arrogance. The insults, the dismissiveness, the snobbery and high handedness, the utter contempt for another point of view. Where on earth are the mods??

I'm actually a bit disappointed because some of these posters displayed an occasional glimmer of common sense and decency, but once they all get together on their favourite prolockdown hobby horse!

We all know the saying about if you try to argue with a certain type of person what does that make you? Thankfully, I've better things to be doing! If I get very bored I'll be back to get a sample of the latest displays of arrogance.

Christ you are outraged today ace.

Yes the arrogance of being aware of what was happening and not dismissing it as a flu or fake concern.

I dont know why you've taken it so personally, didnt mean to offend you especially but that was fun :pac:

Glad that you admit your arrogance. Glad that you're aware that your remarks are offensive.

No, I haven't taken it personally, people like you don't affect me, but interesting to see that you find insulting lots of different posters fun.

Dream on in your ivory tower, the world is full of people who think they have unique insight and everyone else is an idiot. I generally don't bother with such people.

I think - if you want to wear a mask to feel extra safe - wear it. If you dont, dont.

At the end of the day the choice is down to the individual.

With over 1200 posts in the Covid forum, it's a bit concerning you state this.
What exactly do you think the mask is for?

Nothing arrogant about it. There are a number of posters who have genuine concerns and expressed them - needing company, seeing a parent etc. Mental health is a concern for many.

However, the ones who showed faux concern while screaming for everything to open up are easy to spot and they don’t give two fcuks about anyone but themselves. That’s as clear as day.

Oh, and for what it’s worth I’m not pro lockdown, but have concerns that the virus hasn’t gone away and decisions are being made on the basis of he who shouts loudest, rather than on health grounds.

Many an unsavoury character considered their arrogance as common sense.

And you yourself even admitted it was arrogance.

Insulting people is not common sense. It's not classy, it's not an intelligent way to make a point and it's not very nice.

You accuse some posters of being arrogant and telling others to grow up it`s not a them and us situation etc etc yet then follow that up with smartarse comments about back slapping posters and call for the mods to censure posters whose opinions don`t agree with yours. What`s the story there bud?

Yeah I know The arrogance displayed in his last few posts is exactly what he was accusing other posters of. Typical and predictable of many of the cohort here.

The story there bud is that my "smartarse" comments was calling out you and some other posters for the pig ignorant, insulting remarks about posters whose views you disagree with. Stop projecting by claiming that I've a problem with posters who don't agree with me. I don't give a shyt about who does or doesn't agree with me.

The selection of remarks which I quoted and emboldened are remarks which you guys should be ashamed of. Going on about "scummy tactics" "faux concern for mental health" and claiming that these people's only agenda are "pints and holiers in Lanzarote." That the "decent folk" ie yerselves the insult slingers weren't having any of this cheek from thee ignoramuses who dared to question the whole thing and dared to bring mental health into it.

I'm no shrinking violet myself and am well up for a fight here on boards and I can tell you I've got banned on fora for waaaaay milder than the remarks I quoted. So you would wonder where the mods are!

And while I'm at it, bud, there is absolutely no contradiction in my telling ye to grow up earlier and my disgust at the arrogance now. It all stems from the same thing. A gang of ye with rigid views hell bent on rubbishing and insulting those with different views and back slapping each other in the process.

    Pathetic, bud!

You were the one with the 3 types of people in Ireland, and you were the among the only type capable of thinking things through yourself and said you were live and let live ? Yes remember now .
And you have the cheek to call others arrogant?

Its a cause for concern... NOT

In all seriousness we are spending our last 2 weeks in this thread, with new cases in single digits even after 3000 protesting twice, you cant keep anything closed beyond 29 June. Esp with tourists coming over, summer is not lost.

Personally I'm happy with the pace the restrictions are easing at. The original road map was far too cautious. We've done reasonable well. And we're in a good place in terms of suppressing the virus.

I'd be concerned about removing the handbrake too quickly.

But that is just what you and others have been doing.

Doubt you would know much about common sense.

Didn't you claim that people were anti-restrictions because they wanted to inherit their relatives money or they hated their kids.

I agree, laughing at people who were afraid and also at people who genuinely had a reason to be afraid, like elderly or sick , calling names like mouth breathers ..using mental health as a cover , to be honest .

They also threw stones at ducks and kicked the crutches out from under people with broken legs, just to complete the full house of nonsense.
