Saw them out clearing the Lough in Cork tonight. 30 mins after leaving, people were back out again.

Soft touch policing isn't working in some areas it seems.

I’d happily see each and every one of those breaking restrictions burying someone from it. ***** might think twice then.

So how do they do it? If they arrest, their accused of police brutality..Or their told to fight the "real criminals"..Anyways we dont have enough cells, manpower to arrest in this country. Should they all be thrown in a bus like what happened today in the USA :pac:

They almost arrested one person actually. I was walking so wasn't bothered to stop and watch, but he was giving check back to the guard and the guard was threatening him with putting him in the back of the car. Saw 2 other guards come over then too but was walking on and when came back around it was over with.

That's why they need body cams.

Wont make a difference. Body cam footage wont be allowed to be released to the public until the investigation is over, which would be over a year. Not the same for the caring member of the public who uploads it straight away deleting the first minute...

    The Gardai are a joke.

There have been Internet Conspiracy Theory Nutjobs protesting every Saturday outside the GPO and they dont go near them but they will go after the softer targets such as protesters outside Debenhams and teenagers.

If your going to enforce the law apply it to everyone not just the few.

The law is a joke. Every other country introduced on the spot fines and it works. Especially if its linked to Social Welfare payments.

Out and about? €100 fine each time Garda stops you. Much more effective than rolling checkpoints but the Government wouldn't introduce it.

Wishing people dead this forum really scrapes the bottom of the barrel.

    Filthy deranged post.

Maybe you should mind your own business and take a good look in the mirror.:mad:

Sure what’s the issue, isn’t it great? People out enjoying themselves again in the sun. Cafes Open for takeout, people flocking to the beaches. Been locked up for long enough.

Any begrudgers are busy bodies that love to be heard.

Check the stats today, second wave or not. 83 was median age. 10 people died under 45.

TEN.... PEOPLE... and of those we don’t even know what their health condition was.

About one twelfth of the 24,500 approx cases were under 30. How many health workers? A large majority I’d imagine.

Life goes on and has to. Anyone denying the return to normality isn’t half wise. Including our government. Keeping things inside their control until they get their new corrupt government sorted. Meanwhile flights from the UK and further afield land in day by day. “But it’s for cargo “ they say... :D
Begrudgers a synonym for people with underlying health conditions now?

So long as it doesn't affect you though.

“You” tends to be the majority viewpoint of the public right now I think you’ll find. A lot of people just won’t admit it as it would be labeled controversial.

No issue with people with underlying health conditions and families who live with someone like that. Of course they have to take all precautionary measures But don’t ask the rest of the country to sit at home knitting for the next year and ride this thing out with them.

“Stay indoors as much as possible” but “people can meet up in groups of 4 outdoors”
“Only make essential journeys” but “Woodies is now open”

Make up your mind and take a stance on it. Clowns.

    *Slow clap*

Try that on with police in Spain, Italy, France, Germany, almost anywhere else and have very different results. A fine at the very least.

Here, they'd rather not bother with the paperwork. The govt is to blame for not giving them more leeway with fines, instead of a stern talk and a threat of the "naughty step".

Easier to move a few timid women than deal with litigious fruitcakes who'd claim police brutality if a guard looked funny at them.

id normally be a supporter of the guards but i think they got it wrong big time lately. kilmore quay packed this weekend with dub/kildare and various other reg cars . was in the local business park [woodies] an hour ago and its the same , and judging from the accents of people the place is full of people from outside the county. i feel they have done sweet f..k all to deter people from travelling outside the 5 k to go to beaches / holiday homes . I know if any of them approach me on the pier in kilmore they'll get a fairly abrupt reply and i wouldn't mind but normally i'd enjoy a bit of crack with the visitors .
You hear politician's thanking the public for their effort during this crisis but their is a lot of selfish pr..ks out there and it's about time they were clamped down on

I would advise to anyone who has been stopped and turned back by police to demand a written confirmation, that you are not allowed to travel from, say, Dublin to Wexford. And please demand the name of the Garda to be written on the document. It is going to be a very valuable document in the future of the time when democracy and human rights had been suspended in Ireland.

14,500 guards with no overtime policing the whereabouts of 5 million people in 20+ degree weather. Good luck with that.

ya fair enough , but the one's who are being stopped at checkpoints like the 3 i've seen in the past 2 days should be penalised . Or all all the ones visiting the area using back road to avoid check points. If so all the guards have to do is instead of check points go to the spots where people are congregating and wait by the cars . If a few fairly stiff fines had of been issued from the getgo it would have made people realise its a no no to risk travelling
Having said all that and it's probably been done to death in the thread , there is a cohort of people who think the guideline are not for them

Same boy probably went down to the Quay being a busy body looking for a chance to ring Garda.

This place is getting more and more like England with the whole nosy neighbour nanny state honest to god.

Back into the house and stay inside then, no one making you come out.

Good man. “Them city slickers and nordernerrrs comin down stompin about our place”

Same crew of Wexicans more than glad of visitors to keep a lot of the cafes and restaurants afloat in the summer months.

You can guarantee that the minute this crap is lifted they’ll be standing with open arms welcoming people down. Open your eyes

You really need to get back to school, home education isn't working for you.

my education is fine, thank you. Yesterday drove 50 km to my friend's birthday party. There were 30 people from all over the country. Had a good time. Didn't drink much, as I respect sensible laws re drink driving. Had a bottle of wine today as compensation for abstinence from yesterday. So not going today anywhere. Sunbathing in the back garden. Going 40km to the beach tomorrow. Gards can go claiming their overtimes, I don't care. If they stop me will go by back roads. There is no law which said that you have to follow idiotic orders, especially from unelected officials.
As for "expert" opinions, myself studied medicine. Plenty of idiots graduated. Not every doctor is an authority.
