The last stage of restrictions will never be lifted, even if a vaccine becomes widely available.

    Nah, it will.

    Thats a good pct

    Looks healtier after

Looks like he had blood pressure issues on the stuff, lot of water retention, flushed looking

Cames off the juice and is bed ridden.. What do people expect :)

He will be jacked again in a few months.

Surely people shouldn't be catching colds now though?

"Cold" is a misnomer. You don't catch a cold from temperature. You catch it from coming into contact with someone who already has the virus.

So, you can catch a "cold" at any time.

I'm not in any way underestimating the seriousness of the disease, but the guy in that photo was absolutely jacked and I assume was on a strict diet with a lot of protein and/or "supplements" of some description.

Obviously that diet went out the window once he was admitted to hospital so he was always going to drop a tonne of muscle regardless of what disease he had.

The Covid obviously didn't help but I just think taking this guy as an example is somewhat misleading.

    Just my 2c

I think people are missing the salient points he was making and simply focusing on his exterior.

It's the lung damage that Covid has done that's the important part. Not the drop in muscle tone.

I wonder if the government model takes into account a second wave of infections. In Wuhan they started reopening stuff in March and then immediately rolled it back. There was a story covered by CNBC and others about them opening cinemas and immediately closing them because of outbreaks. (Though one can never trust what a communist government says)

My guess is that the last stage of restrictions will not be lifted until next year. This would mean bail-outs and other turmoil. Like hotels will be totally bankrupt.

It's also the muscle tone. All your muscles are affected by an induced coma and artificial ventilation, included those you use for breathing.

Same camera took both pics, so he's really 10 lbs lighter in both if that's the case.
Yeah that's what I meant. I don't think he was on roids but I could be wrong.

Of course, but some are looking at him and thinking it doesn't "look" so bad.

I find Jonathan Van Tam much more reassuring then Tony H.
Constantly talks positively, "numbers going down, on the right track, thanks to public compliance etc."

he's juiced to the gills and has had no TESTO, no muscle stimulus, tons of atrophy, and low calories no doubt..he's also lost at least 20lbs or more.

saying that, a course of the usual and he'll be back to normal. People on the juice grow quicker with almost no exercise, than a clean guy training a few times a week. You get used to the look, he's been juicing alot and now he's not!
you'll see lot of that when the gyms open again, lads with no jobs and no gym looking ****e without steroids.

2 of the deaths are from April, 2 from the weekend

As in, none from the last 24 hours?

Only 2 deaths so far recorded from the weekend. The other 2 are from April. Clearly tragic for those affected, but it's a sign of an ever improving situation

0, 1 or 2 - he did not break down between days. Equally we have regularly seen figures of deaths reported late, and there may be adjustments made in due course

I think he was more so making the point that we should take the numbers with a pinch of salt on Mondays due to slow reporting over weekends

RIP, the four people who died.

And thankfully it's a very low number

So it's kinda time Ireland got moving again. At his rate you will have leo forever in office as a dictator, or maybe Tony people seem to bow to him with no hesitation

My take on these massive improvements we've seen is that what we have done to date has worked incredibly well. However I do think they need to revisit the roadmap, assuming no material deterioration over the next few days. They really should be looking at accelerating the opening up (although clearly not in a reckless way)

It may be that when we look back on this in a few years time, putting aside some of the logistical issues we have had, but that have afflicted many other countries also, the Irish approach could be considered something not too far adrift from "Best in Class" (and I would put NI into that as well as they have kept their figures down remarkably well in comparison to GB)

We shut the schools at 29 confirmed cases in a day
