Plus older people only make about 25% vitamin D as younger people would it has been shown. Much like dark skinned people make less of it also.

I didn't know that about dark skin people

Maybe that could explain why Southern Europe has been so badly affected (the US, too, Trumpleton aside). Spanish and Italians (and Americans) aren't famous for being soft spoken.

It's been noted its more likely because of their informal greeting practise (kissing on the cheeks, long hand shakes etc., also a lot of households have inter generational families under the one roof. Also Italy and Spain have some of the highest rates of apartment dwellers in the world, coupled with Northern Italy having the oldest population in Europe and Northern Italy having factory links with Wuhan. North Italy never had a chance to escape lightly

Saint Corona, a little-known saint, whose feast day is tomorrow May 14th, is celebrating a comeback.

    Menas_of_Egypt_Victor_at_Damascus_Vincent_of_Spain_and_Stephanida_of_Spain_Menologion_of_Basil_II-1.jpg

She met a grisly end in the 2nd century, being tethered by the Romans to two bent palm trees before being ripped apart as the trunks were released.

People hoping for help from the heavens above in difficult times — in particular when they had money problems — would pray to Saint Corona. She is commonly thought to be the patron saint of butchers, gamblers and treasure-hunters, prayed to in times of financial hardship.

We all might need her help for economic reasons before this pandemic ends !

    ;)

Labcorp are already providing home testing in the US (don't ask me how reliable it is). There's a lot of innovation in this area and tests being developed.
So the patient is responsible for taking their own swabs and sending it to the lab. There are major issues with that.

Like all laboratory testing, the results will only be as good as the sample that is received.

We've seen pictures and videos of how the nasal swabs are taken. The swab must reach deep into the nasal cavity to gather as much viral material as possible. Same with a throat swab. It must be taken carefully and properly.

There is no way to ensure any swabs are taken correctly. If swabs aren't taken properly then the lab analysis is pointless.

It’s not a question of having the lockdown overturned, it’s about setting limits. The government seems to have a sense of how far they can go in regulating behaviour which would indicate that their power in this regard is not absolute.

There is an immense amount of uncertainty as to what is proportionate and what is not and I suspect if this lockdown continues much longer you will have some legitimate challenges. All infringements of rights must be proportionate to the aims and if for example the 5km limit cannot be substantiated by hard evidence it’s possible that that could be overturned.
There won't be any challenges as it can be argued it is for the greater good, a key feature of our constitution.

A lot of heavy breathing and in gyms hasty movement between equipment and not cleaning properly. Can't see them being bumped up in the queue.

An instructor can easily shout the virus across an entire spin class too

    159 new cases?

Wonder will this burn out in two weeks time like that man said? I'm confused with the low numbers.

I guess the public health officials, politicians, businesses and vast majority of public who were and comply with restrictions are lockdown merchants these days.. Some people treat this as if it's a game of football or something.

Dance studios are often quite large though, so the social distancing aspect would not be a problem. A lot of dance and exercise classes are often held in gyms and large halls which are even bigger again.

Leo doesn't want us to be the last European country to reopen schools.

Does Leo see this as some kind of competition?

By my rough maths, that's 19,650 recoveries.
