Its good to consistently see the macro guys come onboard. They're the ones who have spent their careers looking at the bigger picture and developing trends - spotting the disruption before the herd.

100%, we are running up way too fast.

Yeah hard to see this run stopping before 10.

Anybody using electrum as a wallet?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,254 ✭✭✭Grumpypants

There was a huge sell off at 9k but it hasn't really dampened it. It took a hit but started building almost right away again. Great sign.

Looks like it only just rejected $10k. What do we think pop to $10.1ish then drop to mid to low 9s? Or just keep going?

    Yes.
    Recommended so. Any tips?

I need to take mine off platform. Stop loss etc are handy on platform though.

Yes, I would recommend it. it works fine and does the job and has a good track record. It's very straightforward so I can't think of any tips other than writing down your pass phrase on paper and keeping it in a safe place.

Just in case anyone is interested, Paul Tudor Jones' letter to investors is here.

There's a lot in it - for those that don't have the time, do a Ctrl+F on Bitcoin to get to the juicy bits.

That was a dramatic drop off! Was that a miners pump and dump selling off before getting out post halving possibly?

I know at the time of dump Coinbase crashed(shock) might have led to it. Other then that more then likely miners cashing out before halving.

Have a look at the volume. Weekends are often a bit weird and I don't think are a good indication of the underlying market.

More than likely miners dumping and some profit taking before halving

2,000 BTC were sent to Binance shortly before coinbase went down
Bit dirty of coinbase to go down during the dip but they are famous for it

It’s a beautiful thing to have it now
    Hopefully back up next week

The price is literally what it was about a week ago

Hopefully another bit of a dip over the next week or two to pick up some more,

Yeah at this stage it is getting a bit difficult for them to claim it is due to unforeseen technical circumstances ... unless they are saying they have a serious lack of foresight :-D

Why isn’t coinmarketcap showing Tether’s real market cap? CMC shows their being 6.36 billion tethers in circulation, when it’s actually closer to 8.5 billion. It briefly overtook XRP last night to become the third most valuable cryptocurrency.

I'd be happy with a €3 chainlink again to grab some more

I didn't realise the halvening literally meant that the value of BTC would go down by half  :p

Prob be a 30% drop this week as people sell the news after the halving doesn't moon. It's next September really when we should see the uptick.

I reckon that drop was also a case of exchanges liquidating those with high leverage prior to the halving. As the price falls fast more and more leveraged longs get rekt. Nevertheless, we're the same price as we were a week ago.

Missed the bottom because Coinbase played their usual games but got a good lump more there at 8.5k. Did Kraken stay up?

Looking forward to midnight tomorrow when absolutely nothing happens. Excited to see how the next 6 months play out, my guess is a fair period of dumping & consolidation.

Easing off on the cans, dude. Had a reason to celebrate on Friday as that Paolo dude from Tether banned me on Twitter. They printed another 100 million an hour ago. 2 billion printed in the last month.

Just in case anyone is interested in the effect that tether is alleged to have had on the market, here's an interesting podcast. What there isn't any debate about is that every central bank on the planet is printing off magic money - and that this is having an effect on conventional global markets.
