    This one lines up well with club TT on same weekend, so two results for one effort. Course choice definitely will be more heavily policed here though. :pac:

    Last effort 5:58 so looking for a small improvement. Plus couldn’t resist all those 5s.

    Well it's a practically pain free fun-run type of distance because you're not sprinting or running a long distance. You're lungs definitely won't feel like they might explode that's for sure.

    Jeez, I dunno. Never done of these so I'm going for about 3.30 km pace (I think).
    Sure I'll be the moral victor if nothing else, having been cruelly deprived of my official M55 World Athletics Cat. But that's alright....... a dish best served cold!!!

    Could you post your age in the table please. There is no age category available for the mile, only grading by age. Categories will be as normal but the percentages will be specific to each individual :)

    Pain free fun run i hope you are joking! You should be ready to hurt at 1k and be near vomiting at the end if you get it right!

    Just a tad. I can vividly remember my first attempt at running a flat out mile. Baptism of fire might describe it best. Fire in the lungs, jelly in the legs and stomach in the throat :D

    Not sure I'll be in condition to race this as I'm a broken mess at the moment, but sure, I'll throw my hat in the ring just in case. Never raced this distance, so I'll go for a one second PB on what Garmin tells me.

    So how exactly does one race a mile?? I'm sure there are many approaches to it? Having never ran one, or trained for one, I can only imagine I'll go out balls to the wall and start to fall apart with 400m to go....this after doing no mile specific training of course.

    Control the 1st 400, hold on in the second 400, dig deep in the 3rd 400m, don't die in the last 400m
