    Good question as a few people had trouble last time. IMO best way to use the watch on a TT is to set up a workout on Garmin Connect (or watch itself, depending on model) for 1 mile run. No warmup or cooldown set. Do your warmup, take your position on start line, load the 1 mile workout, and go. The watch will pause when the mile elapses. You’ll hear the ‘beeps 5 or 10 secs before the end (don’t mistake these for the actual end) and a louder beep at the actual end. Watch will be paused, so just save the workout and set up another for cooldown.

    This saves you worrying about stopping the watch. Just run like fock until it stops itself. I like to set up a 400m autolap when running a road mile but this might be overkill for people not used to the four laps mentality.

    This is harder to predict than the 5k.

    My best 1500 time is 4.35 - but I was doing a lot of track then.
    I don't think I could go sub 5 now.

    Jaysus - I even find strides at 5.10 painful................

    More time needed.

    This does not match my 5k time, but I did a mile TT in 6.05 about 5 weeks ago, on either a too-long or too-short 400m looped route depending on your opinion of GPS watches! So maybe I'll be completely off... Go hard or go home sure.
