you might be lucky and get more on a dip here, BTC needs to cool off and this is possibly a range it could happen

I'd sit tight and see what happens in the next 24hrs

Yeah, gonna be patient and just keep an eye out. Really I'd already had my fill for a good while now for the long-term, haven't bought some in about a year, it's just that itch that you feel thinking this is likely to be the last few weeks/months where we've got the chance to get in <€10k. Could be surprised even after the halving as well, if there's not much action directly after it there could be some selloffs by the impatient, disappointed investors

cant touch my crypto, its on a ledger

concerned about money in the bank though...I'd be hung drawn & quartered here if I took it all out and put it in crytpo, she likes to have a nest egg

No point if that nest gets chopped out of the tree though

Not particularly and I use Brave the whole time. I am having general internet issues over the past few days though - but that's more about the lockdown that's in place in the part of the world I'm in and everyone hanging off internet all day/night - every day.

You could opt for a stablecoin like Pax Standard or USDC. Both are regulated. The only issue there is that you're taking on FX risk (as regards what the euro does against the dollar). That said, one thesis floating about is that later in the year, other currencies will weaken further against the dollar (but that's speculative).

There are a couple of euro based stablecoins - but I don't know a whole lot about them.

Yeah I don’t think any of the existing euro-based ones really has any traction.

The euro doesn’t seem attractive to stable-coin issuers. One explanation given by a TrustToken rep here on reddit is negative interest rates being incompatible with their business model: https://www.reddit.com/r/TrustToken/comments/cogyt8/when_trueeur/

I can indeed see how it is an issue for them - and while not yet negative the latest moves of the Fed going to near zero interest rates are probably reducing profitability for USD stable coins issuers as well (I assume part of the business model is to get interests on the USD deposits matching the coins which have been issued).

that thought had crossed my mind and I believe you can store USDC on the Ledger Nano

I think I'd still get fleeced for moving it, she can barely understand how the crypto is stored on a ledger, she just accepts it

Anyone here use CoinBase Pro? Want to start using that instead of CoinBase but seems to just send me on an endless loop where I verify my ID and it sends me to CoinBase. Is it not available in Ireland or something?

You might have considered it already and it could be too extreme, but if the idea is to have fiat currency outside of banks, banknotes in a safe deposit box can also do the trick (technically stablecoins are also bank deposits as you expect their issuers do have bank accounts with deposits matching the issued coins). CHF and USD would be my preferred currencies.

Coinbase pro is available in Ireland. But the maker/taker fees are 0.50% which is why i dont use it anymore. I recommend Kraken its fees are much lower. Kraken is a highly respected exchange.

You verify through Coinbase for Coinbase pro. You need an extra layer of verification for trading that isn't needed for just buying on normal Coinbase. I think it might need your passport or driving licence.

I use to use them but read that they had price spike drops way lower than other platforms especially to activate stop losses so I stopped using them.

I have been following Matic for over a year, It’s already on Coinbase custody. Mainet was meant to be in Q1 2020 but go pushed back by 6 weeks, Probably due to corna

it was release last year on binance launchpad. not trying to shill everyone this coin . But for next month could be a nice earner.

    Anyone's guess really.

Personally see $100,000 before 2022 is out, $500,000 before the decade is out, hence why I'm going bal1s deep.

Only buy what you can afford to lose etc.

It's a scare digital asset that is only getting scarcer.

Anyone give a simple explanation for the basis for these incredibly high figures.

Long time from now to then - particularly with more regulatory action , and more and more government movement in the area of their own coins ?

Any explanation will be based on assumptions.

For example, if I remember correctly a Bitcoin would be worth a few hundred thousand dollars if bitcoin was to attain the same total market cap as gold.

Then it is a matter of whether you find the assumption plausible.

My take is a supply shock will hit soon. 87.5% of all bitcoins are mined. All bitcoins won’t be mined until 2140. Don’t forget bitcoin halving this day week. 1800 bitcoins are created everyday come next Tuesday it will be 900. Less bitcoins for miners to sell. Expecting nothing major price wise in the short term .
