    No it's not

You can't drive to a location to exercise. That 5KM is your exercise area

That means no driving. You cannot go for a drive withing the 5km.

You can go for a walk , OR a v drive within the 5km, once you maintain social distancing.

This May 18 gradual business opening is, of course, dependent on how well we have curtailed the virus?

Surely businesses like hairdressers can’t open no matter what the state of play is?

They’re going to be final phase

I'm so bloody sick of the lockdown, and i really hate that its been extended.

But it's the right call. I won't die having to stay home another few weeks, but people sure as **** would die if restrictions were stopped now. It'll be an unpopular decision for a lot of people, but its one that was needed.

He spoke better the last time but he has been excellent on Brexit and Covid

I’m not a fan of Leo or his strategy but to give him his due he spoke very well.

I didn't to be honest. He spoke better the last time. He did alright but looked like he was reading it, the sentiment seemed artificial and the hand actions forced.

He wasn't great this time but it is a tough gig.

I think they'll start opening up employments soon using a phased approach/timeline using specified groups of workers.
They will start with outdoor construction workers and then add another grouping 3 weeks later.

    Leo was listening...

Economy closed for another 2 weeks. Madness. Stats show under 40s arent as affected by this than the vunerable groups or elderly. But hey, keep them locked up.

Yeah and it's not like the under 40s can pass it on directly or indirectly to those who are vulnerable or elderly and massively exacerbate it... Oh hang on....

    Genius.

Why does he have an EU flag behind him?

All government press briefings are done with our flag and the EU flag in the background. What's your problem with that? Or are you so stuck for something to find fault with?

And maybe it’s these people you need to address your issues, to?

And before anyway slates me its perfectly acceptable to have a view that the economy is now more important than this lockdow.
Sure keep saying it every day and it might make it true.

I'm very relieved. Social distancing is impossible in my work place. Gives me another 2 weeks to consider my options, including looking for different work if it comes to it unfortunately if they won't let me work from home. Which is a pity because I like my work. But I like my health more. Gives us all another 2 weeks to learn more about this virus, get testing and contact tracing up to scratch and study the epidemiological trends in Ireland and elsewhere. I know some feel frustrated but I feel relieved.

Yeah that sold out a while back. New stock is limited at the moment.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,109 ✭✭✭This is it

It's what was expected I suppose. It is what it is, hopefully hardware, etc. opening helps some that are stuck home struggling with little to do.

So on the 18th, can we travel anywhere yeah? No mention of it. Or of the other 5 stages. What a terrible announcement.

Christ! Do under 40s live in some sort of bubble with no contact with any other age group?
Ask any nurse working with Covid patients and they'll tell you how many under 40s are seriously ill.

It is acceptable to have your views but that doesn't make them remotely logical.
