    Can someone answer me

    Is coronavirus airborne or not?

What's the point in wiping down surfaces constantly if it's airborne

Because it is Droplet , so it can land on surfaces and survive on them, it can be airborne for a short period of time as in it can live in the air moving around-(very small particles) after someone coughs or sneezes , but it will eventually fall on surfaces(droplet) .

The public don't want to ease the restrictions. Of course they don't.

They are getting paid to stay at home. The weather has been great. Food and drink is in plentiful supply. They are not too tired to enjoy the simple things in life.

Will Varadkar call their bluff? No. The truth is we haven't even seen a wave and a large majority have broken various restrictions. Who are they planning on testing? Community spread is virtually zero.

The 'lockdown' becomes more ridiculous with every passing day. What are they going to do if we get a wave during flu season? The government can't sustain this support and these health officials are too busy clearing up their mess in the nursing homes.

Community spread is virtually zero? Ballymun on Saturday was spring break for idiots.

Saturday in ballymun...madness...gardai just watching on

That’s just fûcking depressing. I live in Glasnevin and you could hear Garda cars and chopper descending on the area for a good while , I wouldn’t criticize the Gardai too much, looks like one van, probably the initial responders, probably 2-3 Gardai, maybe 60 people (a very conservative guess) out acting the prick and under the influence of alcohol. The same absolute scumbàg cûnts would be giving out shît if a loved one ended up in hospital because of this covid, banging on about wanting a bed immediately, this, that, a consultant immediately... that’s what you are up against in this kip.

The EXPERTS tell us to socially distance. These fûckwits hold a big party in the street, kids adults and old folks. Blocking the roads so emergency services and key services from ambulances, Gardai, doctors, nurses, carers cannot access their destinations.

What if a home care carer who has usually an hour with a client. To cook, clean, wash and provide companionship cannot get to their call ? They have another after so they can’t just wait.... an absolute kip of a country... I’ve had ‘mixed’ dealings with Gardai but I’ve every empathy in this climate having to deal with these absolute scrotes, the Martins pub lot... and if this DID get out of hand the Gardai will get criticized too..

If ICU numbers are currently 102 and Tony has said he would like then below 100 before considering lifting restrictions. Are we not nearly there?

There were 50 I think in ICU when they announced restrictions

Tony Holohan keeps saying the numbers are still higher than when they were imposed so possibly ICU needs to be down to 50?

I wish they would be a bit more transparent these five pillars are very vague and a complete copy and paste of the UK

Spain, Italy and France have all reported under 300 deaths today, and its middle of the week so its not even due to lower weekend reporting.

if its true and not fake use the legislation to fine or imprison the organiser. Confiscate the equipment . Get the diggers in and dig a mass grave plot fenced off,and they just might get the message and at least wont be able to use it as a recreational area.
And have the irresponsible adults explain what it is for, to their teenagers. Post ICU pictures/videos to all their facebook accounts.

Congratulations to the brave person who filmed it. keep safe.

Apologies if not pc but we are in the midst of an emergency and there is not time to educate them quickly enough on how they are potentially killing themselves or others.

But yet they go after a small handful of women who were quietly and peaceful protesting outside Debenhams, whilst maintaining social distancing. I guess they were easier pickings

I heard during the week that it is far more contagious indoors than outdoors. The risk in an enclosed room where there is no fresh air circulating is the highest.

Sorry can the government issue some kind of explanation for that footage in Ballymun.. how long was that nonsense allowed to go on for before it was stopped.. was it stopped?

Scenes like that will make those who are observing lockdown start ignoring government advice, especially if the government are seen to be doing nothing about it. Pure and utter bull****, Ballymun does not have special status and it's just absolute disregard for the rest of the nations efforts....

It is really **** to see. Not only did all those people take part in it but somebody or a group in particular obviously organised or encouraged such large numbers to gather deliberately

So Holohan is waiting for ICU to go below 100?

Why cant we just increase ICU capacity.

We cant simply extend the lockdown ffs.

Because it's not just a matter of number of beds/staff. It's used as an indicator of how much the virus has spread/is spreading.

This "Let them eat cake" is getting tedious.

This is why he, and other medical professionals, call it from a medical viewpoint. Just increase ICU capacity? Right

Well they'll have to try something different. This lockdown will start to ease up very soon. Regardless of what Holohan says.

To increase capacity you need to have an appropriate space to do so, equipment to ready to be installed, ‘qualified’ ICU nurses etc....

It's a respiratory virus - of course it's much easier to pick up indoors. (If that sounds condescending it's not meant to!). I personally would not generally be worried about picking it up outdoors presuming some rudimentary form of social distancing is maintained. Doesn't mean you can't pick it up either but just because something is possible doesn't mean it's likely or even realistically feasible. Obviously if you're outdoors in somewhere like, say, a crowded stadium at Cheltenham, your risk is rather higher....

If there’s 106 in ICU now, surely it will be below 100 in one week’s time. I’m sure most people wouldn’t have too much of a problem if they extended the lockdown by one extra week up to midnight on Sunday 10th May. It’s only a 4 day week anyway, so wouldn’t seem too long for us to get through, and would give an extra 6 days to see how the numbers are. Any more than a week though seems unnecessary

If you're out of work id say you'd have a problem. Outdoor workers and retail like garden centres should be allowed to reopen.

Agreed. Sadly I think it’ll be a extended by a lot more than a week anyway

The governor of New York said a few days ago the the virus can be airborne for up to 3 hours.

    That shocked me.

He was explaining how long it last on different surface.

Who polices social distancing in a garden center though. Garden centers are probably one of the furthest things from being an ‘essential’ anything. I don’t think anyone NEEDS a hanging basket full of begonias right now.

If anything like that video in Ballymun becomes in any way common itll be far more than 106 in ICU in a weeks time rather than less
