You were wrong. There was no Covid months ago in Ireland. It didn’t exist. If it did deaths would have been higher even without testing, which they weren’t . People say this kinda ****e every year. It’s called the recency effect.

Get over yourself, you and a few others in this thread benefiting from hindsight are not able to see into the future.

It was here. Its clear as day it was here. If it was in the states its obvious it was here too. Lets stop pretending otherwise.

But what were the metrics that were used to declassify?

Was it simply that prognoses were not verified by serum tests, or was it preexisting that conditions over COVID-19, was it or something else?

Surprised that our valiant journalists haven't established whats behind the declassifications.
They have. Asked and answered at today's press conference. No mystery.

Research coming out suggesting c-19 was in parts of US as early as December. And I started a c-19 thread in this forum suggesting that it might have been here in December.
The thread was shut down and moved the 'conspiracies theory' threads. So whoever did that can f##k right off.

I read something online about a Chinese search engine. Results from their search engine shows people were searching about Sars and respiratory problems from the middle of November onwards. Take a time of up to 14 days to shows symptoms from exposure, about 8/9 days for disease progression. You're talking about three to 4 weeks there. The virus was circulating in China from late October, for sure.

I don't watch Trump press conferences much but jaysus some of the journalists make our own ones sound like rocket scientists. I can sometimes understand his frustration with the media.

Can you imagine the media’s frustration with trump? Barely and intelligible sentence uttered in 3 years

All the FG supporters on here this evening defending simple Simon are gas. If this was a minister for health in any other country and not a FG minister the stick would be flying around.

Worth reminding ourselves what we have at the helm. This is humiliating.

As the US are discovering, you can have the world's greatest experts giving advice but if the politicians are idiots you are always on a loser.

Then why wasn’t there more ICU cases? More deaths ? Why did everything increase so suddenly in March if it had already been here for months?

Any actual answers apart from random sentences with no meaning?

If it was here months ago why didn't it spread like wildfire when we hadn't a lick of social distancing in place? Wouldn't hospitals and ICU be rammed with people displaying pneumonia like symptoms?

So you also think we had a number of cases of Covid in this country in November? Is that what you’re saying?

Yeah, I've seen reports that it may have been everywhere as far back as January.

I'm not sure. I mean we did have a lot of ILI and chesty infections in January here, took me a month to get over one.

But wouldn't this be noticed in the spike in deaths and ICU cases?

I'm starting to wonder if it comes into an area and takes a while to build up a critical mass of those infected who perhaps are mild cases and as it gains mass in the population it hits those who are more vulnerable?

Sounds a bit stupid I know

The US now say their first death was Feb 6, so take 10 days to get symptoms and 14 from onset to death that would mean the person who died on Feb 6th caught it around Jan 13 and they hadn't travelled if I read right so could have been in the US even earlier

Think I also read thos week the first cases in Wuhan were as early as October, will go look it up

Edit first case in Wuhan 17th November so there before that too possibly https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.livescience.com/amp/first-case-coronavirus-found.html

    Since when and which coronavirus?

Another poster seems to be knowledgeable on this saying that dogs and cattle do experience some strains of coronavirus. Probably not this covid strain. The cattle virus does cause respiratory problems. There is a vaccine for cattle for that coronavirus.

It could be some good news in that could be a step towards a vaccine for humans.

The funny thing is I remember in December seeing multiple posts online talking about a particularly wicked chest infection type thing doing the rounds that people were noting as abnormal before COVID 19 even became a known thing.

In hindsight, you could put two and two together.

Had a clippers at home for some 'ballsack and surrounding region' grooming. Got the missus give me a haircut last week. Low point, but did the job and no mullet.

There isn't much discussion about coronavirus on my involuntary celibate forums I have noticed probably because we are just living our normal hermit lifestyles anyway. I wonder if the tinder thots are still meeting up with men, I'd love to know

I rasied it myself on this thread months ago. I honestly feel that there had been a higher than usual amount of colds and flu type illness's doing the roinds and was shot down. Mad i was called.

    There ye go.

I read something that the virus could have been in America since last October. I was on holidays then, picked up a cold and a cough that lasted weeks. Then everybody else around me got a cough as well. Very strange looking back at it now.
