    Who would be better?

Anyone but him now. It's scary to think this is one of the leaders that is supposed to guide us through this.

    Ffs.

So autopsies showing that covid was spreading in the US since January.

Obviously it was here a lot longer than we know of.

    ffs.

It's worth reposting this as often as necessary so it doesn't get drowned in 'boo boo' 'tired' 'simon the hero working so hard' deflection.

It is the most humiliating and embarrassing I have heard from any leader during all of this crisis.
It says something about the people who keep reposting this as if it's a big deal.

So he's not able to take the pressure, get someone who is to take his place. I'll say it again he's the minister for health. How can someone in his position not know that this was wrong. I've lost complete confidence in him now and think he should be removed.

I'd say you had utmost confidence in him before though, yeah?

    I'm just after reading this.

If an animal can get infected with this, can they then infect people.

I used to get very close to my pets. My dog used to lick my eyelids open. She got old and she's gone now. People and and their pets can and do get close.

Is it people passing it onto people?
Can animals pass it to each other?
Can cats and dogs infect each other?
If pets roam and pick up virus and become infected, can they infect their humans/owners?
What happens of it gets into livestock?

They have their best people looking at dog to cat transmission so hopefully we get some god damn answers.

I rasied it myself on this thread months ago. I honestly feel that there had been a higher than usual amount of colds and flu type illness's doing the roinds and was shot down. Mad i was called.

Quite a few funny enough G. IIRC they make up around 10% of "the common cold" cases over the years.

If anything good comes from this, people may have an interest in virology and epidemiology.

We need an uptake on STEM in college, and the mathematics at undergraduate level is really little. Your LC maths is more than enough.

There already are strains of coronavirus that effect dogs and cattle, with a vaccine available for cattle

I don't know about veterinary medicine.

Do them strains of coronavirus that effects dogs and cattle cause Sars like illness/respiratory illness in cattle?

You say there say there's a vaccine for cattle. If them strains of coronavirus in cattle cause respiratory illness and there's a vaccine available for that, wouldn't that be somewhat good news for a vaccine for people? It would be a step closer for a human vaccine.

It's a pity that in the middle of the biggest crisis this state has faced since WW2, there's a small group of people who just want to score political points.

No-one is asking people to wrap themselves in a green flag, but for once it would be nice to stop with the ****e and get behind the country and its current leaders. Now is not the time for this petty stuff.

Lets hope the number of cases in acute hospitals and ICUs keep going in the right direction.

I’d like to see a breakdown of recoveries vs deaths, why are these ICU cases going down.

Head of US vaccine agency removed by Trump for not promoting his quack cures.
That's incredible. We're facing a global pandemic and so many countries throwing so much at fighting this virus and Trump is just hindering a solution, especially now with this move. America should be revolting to overthrow that cnut trump.

Research coming out suggesting c-19 was in parts of US as early as December. And I started a c-19 thread in this forum suggesting that it might have been here in December.
The thread was shut down and moved the 'conspiracies theory' threads. So whoever did that can f##k right off.

You were wrong. There was no Covid months ago in Ireland. It didn’t exist. If it did deaths would have been higher even without testing, which they weren’t . People say this kinda ****e every year. It’s called the recency effect.

Get over yourself, you and a few others in this thread benefiting from hindsight are not able to see into the future.

This could be some good news in that cattle have a vaccine for a coronavirus that causes respiratory problems. Maybe the vaccine for cattle can be built around or something..

    Declassified as Covid deaths.
But what were the metrics that were used to declassify?

Was it simply that prognoses were not verified by serum tests, or was it preexisting that conditions over COVID-19, was it or something else?

Surprised that our valiant journalists haven't established whats behind the declassifications.

I don't watch Trump press conferences much but jaysus some of the journalists make our own ones sound like rocket scientists. I can sometimes understand his frustration with the media.

On Trumps press conference now with the CDC director...
Trump has taken particular issue with the Washington Post’s coverage of Dr Redfield’s comments.

Dr Redfield has just been asked whether he was accurately quoted by the Washington Post. He was, he says. Trump jumps in to say the headline was the problem.

The Post’s headline was “CDC director warns second wave of coronavirus is likely to be even more devastating”. Here is their response to Trump’s criticism.

Dr Redfield is asked why he retweeted the article if it was inaccurate. Trump steps in, immediately, to say that the journalist speaking wasn’t called upon to ask a question.

Yeah, I've seen reports that it may have been everywhere as far back as January.

I'm not sure. I mean we did have a lot of ILI and chesty infections in January here, took me a month to get over one.

But wouldn't this be noticed in the spike in deaths and ICU cases?
