Tony Holohan did say the other day that they think they flattened the curve so much that there wasn't going to be a peak.
In Italy it appears the virus was spreading a huge amount in Lombardy before it was noticed so that's why they had a huge peak.
Obviously that hasn't happened here.

But of course you're right and there could be a huge spread of infection in the future future. I suppose that is why there is talk of only a gradual loosening of restrictions to try to avoid a massive peak occurring.

The government took the approach that seemed to what the rest of the world was doing, based on hope that it was the correct thing to do, and panic!

He was isolating as was on Claire Byrne show before she was diagnosed with it. Probably would have heard if he was confirmed to have it though.

Questions if over 300 deaths passed away within ICU and hospitals out of all the cases are the rest in care homes? and if so how come they are not making it to hospital?

Do the patients deteriorate that quickly that they don’t make it a hospital.

He went to Glendalough on the last day before the lockdown. He missed the closing time in the evening so he has been stuck there since. He has trekked the spinc route 45 times by now.

They should put up a list of questions already asked on a screen! Every day there's a new set of numbers to confuse them!

Because he was very visible in the early days of the crisis, he was on TV as much as Simon Harris and Leo, but seems to have practically disappeared over the last 7-10 days.

He's not at any press conferences with Leo and Simon H anymore, and we probably won't be seeing himself and Leo together much for the foreseeable, because they've been trying to avoid him and Leo being in the same room as much as possible since sometime in March, as he is the only one that can take over from the Taoiseach if Leo gets sick (erm, while this never-ending government formation drags on anyway and we have them instead of MM and Leo or whoever we end up with after this.) so they're trying everything to avoid both being getting sick. I read they've only been in the same room as each other as few times as possible since- even when both were in the Dail at the same time as each other for the clapping for the HSE a few weeks ago, Simon was as far from Leo as possible. Apparently it was noticeable on the day. According to what I read all their speaking together is done over phone and video-conferencing for now, even their staff have little to do with each other. I'd say Simon's covid scare gave them all a bit of a fright, since he'd been around a lot until then. (though he did test negative in the end. He was the senior politician that there were articles run about needing to be tested, he later confirmed he was negative.)

Don't know why he's not more present in the media on his own though. He was for a while. He is one of the FG negotiators for government formation though, so you're right, he has maybe been pretty busy there?

(Also, hi, and apologies if I'm butting in I've been reading these threads for weeks but I'm a bit stupidly shy even online, so it took me ages to join. Hope I'm not doing this all wrong.)

44 notified today.

108 more are awaiting tests/results....these could be added over the coming days if tests come back positive.

So possibly 44 current plus 108 who they now suspect mage have died from it ..... possibly 152 ?
