CMO, NEPHT and HSE are very much on the side of weak evidence for masks so it's very doubtful we'll see that.

The same crowd that ignored the nursing homes. See that worked out well.

Ridiculous that they can't keep a scheduled time.

Not relevant to discussion which presumes social distancing though. This has also been discussed and accepted that those people were in close proximity for a fair amount of time. From the beginning, we have been warned about close contact for periods of 15 mins etc. So I wouldn't necessarily take those links as supporting general aerosol transmission where people are adopting common sense distancing.
The case for everybody wearing masks... with very useful links.

'Why Telling People They Don’t Need Masks Backfired'

I wouldn't call the above a case at all. Just a random opinion from someone non medical that, no more than myself, has a view.

Social shaming is a strategy that may need to be employed to modify people's behaviour. Refusing entry to those who fail to mask up would be a baby step towards getting people in line with the new normal. Shops are still leaving people with their little snotbags in, has to stop. Social distancing needs to be beefed up with harsh consequences for offenders. It's the only way. If I could get away with tazering every outsider that comes into my estate to take advantage of the green area I would.
Irish people don't respond well to being called out and it could also lead to some greatly increased interest in decking. One could also see a renewed keenness for short planks and long walks!

still a lot of dead, RIP, but the cases dropping is great. If we stay as things are till May 5th let's hope it's close to 0 by then, can't get complacent now. Come on Ireland!

    very good drop in cases.

Big of positive news after yesterday.

I think the start of June some restrictions can be lifted & see how it goes.

Popped in here for the first time in days and still the same sh!t going on.

Drop in numbers, that's great. Do they still have the same testing criteria? Two symptoms or whatever they're looking for now.

No point telling us we're doing great when they're not testing everybody with symptoms. They're also happy to have asymptomatic people walking about the place.

Have they started to get nursing home test results back?

Its quiet surprising they were able to announced number of recoveries, other countries have struggled to get those figures together even though they are based on assumptions of max recovery times for mild cases.

Swab tests, an important distinction. Nowhere near that level are being processed for results daily

Hopefully the number of cases will continue to drop and all cases are eventually caught, but lifting restrictions will not happen for big events until there is a vaccine.

Case definition for testing of the general public is the same , 2 symptoms etc. but expect that to change. Everyone is getting tested in nursing homes though regardless of any symptoms.
