If this was so contagious how on earth is there no trend of illness of flight crew around the world? Didnt we blame air travel for the viruses success in getting around the globe.
Front line shop workers, are they dropping like flies?

People complaining about the restrictions in Ireland have no idea what a real lock down really means, what we have here is very soft

The 2km radius is for exercise. If you were driving, you obviously weren’t exercising. People have been told to only go out for necessities, he stopped you to check was your travel necessary.

You then threw your toy out of the pram like a baby.

I have an essential workers letter from employer. Being a bit cheeky and nipping around the place on it. Havent been questioned yet. :)

OMG I hope your parents are ok

I seen on the VM1 news that some relatives with family in nursing homes are getting their news about the home on the news, I think families should be aware of positive cases in that particular home before media

Thanks, they are ok at the moment but we just have to hope it stays that way.

Yes it's shocking that any family should find out through the news. It seems to vary from one home to another. Ours has generally been quite good with communication.

Media filled with hyperbole and populations unwilling to take responsibility and accountability have lead us here. They are just gagging to be held captive in thier own homes.

If people want to curl up in a ball in the corner of thier room for the duration of this they are free to do so. The rest of us should have the freedom to continue life as normal and take personal responsibility for the outcome.

The lifting of restrictions in Wuhan is still a heck of a lot stricter than our "full" lockdown...

I was within my allocated 2km zone. And yet I have the police harassing me. Disgraceful. We have willingly surrendered all civil liberties. Next they'll be knocking on your door. I'm sure the online gestapo will attack this post as they have attacked my previous ones.

I have the greatest respect for the police and what they are doing to keep this country safe

Hate to break this to you Rob, but people over seventy don't necessarily have the right to make their own health choices. For every person over seventy who unnecessarily goes out for a walk and gets infected, they are putting extra stress on our healthcare system - that's not just going to effect covid19 patients; it's going to have an effect on anyone needing healthcare services if we go past our ICU threshold. Different interests have to be balanced and frankly, not being able to go for a walk for a few months is not exactly the highest priority when we are talking about the continuity of the state's infrastructure.

What happens someone over 70 who has every chance of surviving with no major co-morbidities if we are well below our ICU threshold which we are now?

70 is not old these days, in fact 80 isn't.

Only 25 of todays deaths had underlying conditions.

Oh great. And if others get sick because of you? You want to take responsibility for that too? How long of a prison sentence would suffice if it kills someone?

This is the big and utter nonsense of this sort of thing. People affect other people. You are taking responsibility for others as well.

Dramatised, and dare i say none will die.Any ryanair or aerlingus crew ill.. no large spread of any illness amoung the most exposed..front line workers.

This lie is on such a large scale no government will back track or admit.

You know what there just has to be some truth to there being some funky chemicals in tap water or that 5G is interfering with our brains. There's just no other reason for people to become so damn stupid with how some people are going on.

Like I said, people who don't want to get it, stay isolated. Simple.

Correct - what seems to be a holiday to most. I don't think people will really understand their not doing enough until it's at their doorstep.

Totally agree, stay at home. Turn on Netflix and drink some wine, I actually would not even mind paying extra tax in my wages to keep these people safe.

Compared to a lot of countries in Europe, I dont have to be part of them to know
In Italy people are not allowed to get out of the house unless for shopping and essential trips. Police running after people when they get caught outside, they dont have the 2km rule and no running around for exercise.

Ireland has the same number of cases per million as Italy, however Italy has been on a decreasing trend for daily cases. Ireland on the other hand...

No illness among frontline workers after all the healthcare workers who have become seriously ill or died? Most nonsensical post I have read on this forum. I don`t know whether you re a troll or an idiot.
