People think the US are doing badly but per 1 million they are streets ahead of the likes of Belgium, Italy, Sweden, UK and Spain.

The US as a whole can't really be compared to anywhere yet as many States are well behind in the timescale of this virus.

New York alone Is shocking, and if other states start following a similar trajectory then the numbers in the US as a whole will start to look very dire. Hopefully for them other states won't see the kind of numbers they have seen in New York.

    Ecuador.
Number 83 out of 100 poorest countries in the world.

So one out of a hundred. With a population of 17 milion. Come on you can do better.

Simple Simon: "Trump's WHO decision is inexcusable"

    Early March:

Kingston Mills: "We should close the borders. Why haven't we done it?"

Simple Simon: Eh, Urm, Err….... we're in the EU, its about freedom of movement"

    Inexcusable decisions indeed...

Coveney always had his ambitions on getting a UN gig. Varadkar wants an EU gig. They will put all of our wellbeing at risk to get themselves there.

The day Slovenia closed their border to Italy, the likes of Pascal Donohue and Harris were banging on about hurting Italian peoples feelings and free movement is at the core of the EU. And Slovenia, considering their proximity have done a tremendous job.

There is a clique there that are absolutely brainwashed by the EU.

It would be gold if a reporter asked Trump if he will be buying any of Iran's latest apparatus to detect the virus at 100 metres in 5 seconds...

Why are you calling him "simple"?

Seems a very clever and capable man to me.
Plenty of mistakes made by him during this pandemic, add the Children's hospital fiasco and it's easy to see how he has earned that nickname.

It's designed for the genetics of COVID-19, same as the flu test tests for flu and the MERS test tests for MERS and the SARS test tests for SARS and so on an so on
Tho there is a company in the north that have a test that tests for a variety of the different viruses (cannot remember the name and too late to bother googling it)

Only idiots believe the test is picking up any old coronavirus including the common cold and giving a positive - if you don't believe that then look at all the people dying from it.

Even when they're closing their borders on us, we're still open to them. The level of sycophancy is bordering on pathological

Yeah, like everyone is a capable general after the battle.
That guy is doing what he can. He is not a king or dictator and some decisions need a lot of discussions and infighting inside government.
Can we do better? Probably yes but we can do much worse too.

A large percentage of the world human population will have covi DNA in them in small quantities even if they are perfectly well or sick with some other pathogen

Do you know which test is being used and how it is being used?
When you will dig deeper you will find some interesting things.

There was a small antibody study done in Finland, they took samples of people who attended hospital for non-coronavirus related issues. This was done over three weeks (March 23rd, March 30th, April 6th). The first week's samples had 0.7% positives for Coronavirus antibodies, 2nd week had none, and 3rd week had 3.4%.

It was only ~150 samples per week, but it could indicate the actual number of infected people in the area are dozens of times higher than detected. This was in the greater Helsinki area hospital district, where they currently have about 2000 confirmed infections.

Did they? The Slovenian closing of several border crossings with Italy was barely even mentioned in the Irish media.

That was the same day the St Patrick's Festival was cancelled and 48 hours before the schools were closed

He'll get his second term, and then Ivanka will be President, or Trump junior, he's already putting the 2024 vibe out there.
Truth is Trumps will be in office for next 20 years plus.

The Porvoo area of Finland was the worst affected which is east of Helsinki.
I have a Finnish friend who was telling me the people in that county where he lived were not allowed to leave their county as they had the bulk of the cases.
