The County panel I am on hasn't moved since the beginning of February anyway.

    Below response from PAS

"We have no exact end date for this panel, however panels generally last 18months from inception."

I am waiting for an interview since February 2019 with little to no movement on two seperate county panels!

I know that PAS are looking at a system where remote interviews could be conducted during the crisis for however long it lasts..

That gives everyone hope it certainly gives me hope anyways! That shows they don't want to just abandon this comp!!

I was offered a post in Offaly last week. Turned it down as I'm on Westmeath panel and this location suits me better.

Did you contact them recently? There was some movement for Westmeath after Christmas but it must’ve stopped then. Very strange how slow it had moved for Westmeath before the Coronavirus considering the amount of civil service offices.

For those that did interview for the EO with Irish, how did ye find it? Was there also a written exam to complete on the day, and if so how was that?

Did anyone else get called for an interview next week using Zoom?

Did anyone else get called for an interview next week using Zoom?

Is this for the general competition or the Irish stream?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8 Polka Dottie

I applied for Meath and Kildare.

    The general competition.

Would you mind if I asked your rough oom

Anyone hear anything about movement in Waterford? My OOM is 4 on interdepartmental and 22 on external. Just curious whether Covid 19 has caused things to stall?

    Meath - 20’s
    Kildare - 70’s

Mayo panel hasn't moved since February.
Emailed last week and still same number of applicants ahead of me as when I queried in February.

Any word on when this panel expires? I think it was meant to be January 2021?

There’s currently no exact date for this panel to expire. Is what was I was told when I asked this question.

Thanks. Further confused by the fact that I just got an email looking for expression of interest for EO in GISC
Not sure whether to express interest or not. Don't want to work shift work but also don't want panel to expire before I reach the top either.

An expiry date would be good to know so I can decide

All you can do is send another email and see if they will tell you when it is due to expire and it might help you to make a decision then

    Hi CivilCybil,

I also received the email regarding expressing interest in GISC position. I agree that it would really help to know when the panel is expiring. I contacted PAS and was told ‘there is currently no exact expiry date for this panel but panels generally last 18months from inception’.
So from that, it sounds like January 2021.

Interviewed in February and placed OOM 3 in Kildare (open) - nothing since. Really hoping there'll be some movement soon.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 199 ✭✭Maestro85

Emailed PAS back in February and told it expires in January 2021. Really hoping they extend it given the circumstances.

    Meath - 20’s
    Kildare - 70’s

Hi Polka Dottie. I was 14 for Kildare and haven't been called. I contacted public jobs and they advised that they have only called the first 13 for interview. This would appear to be incorrect if you scored in the 70s for kildare or is your interview for Meath?

I'm within the top five of the panel so I really don't know whether to hedge my bets and wait or just register interest for GISC
It's literally just the shift work. I'm not 19 anymore! :D

I’m a bit behind you on the panel but similarly, it’s the shift work that was putting me off.
On the other hand, with the current situation regarding Covid-19 and the economic fall out from that, maybe we are very lucky to be getting a second chance to express interest in these positions.

It’s hard to know if there will be any other offers before this panel expires or if there will be an embargo on recruitment after this competition. Lots of thinking to do over the next couple of days...
