Move on to what may I ask ?

    Shin

Move on from a full lockdown which will lead to total economic collapse and possibly way more dead than we will save.

Can you point to a country that has done this successfully?

In 19 days we need to move on.

To coincide exactly with the probable peak in cases/deaths?

    No comprendo.

Lots of questions, no answers. Well done.

Do you think Leo and the government or the advisory committee have the answers either ?

I don’t think they do to be honest. It’s a very difficult situation for everyone but if you think this can continue indefinitely with two week extensions it simply cannot

We need a plan not a make up as you go along scenario.

We’re going to have to open up at some point and the virus is still going to be here and all this lockdown will have been generally pointless.

I’m sorry but that’s my opinion.

That's some extrapolation - they could all be from one area - we don't have the facts to assume anything

BTW there are 18 under 1's confirmed and 22 1 to 4 year olds

Did you read the post I replied to??

“Several babies in Kildare have tested positive for Covid 19.

Nationally, 16 babies have tested positive and over half of cases are in Dublin.

Cork, Kildare, Wicklow and Meath have the highest number after that.”

It will only ever be lifted gradually when the numbers show a steady and noteable decline and they keep declining and only then, no point in saying right lads well lift these restrictions just because MONEY and the numbers shoot up again and we go back into lockdown. Slow and steady is the way to go and any easing of restrictions if indeed that comes after the 5th of May will be minimal at best.

Obviously everyone wants that but at the same time we have to be realistic.

There is not going to be "normal" in 19 days no matter what happens.

Getting in to endless cycles of opening up and shutting down would be even worse and drain people's confidence and understanding even more.

We have to wait until we have a good testing and isolation regime in place otherwise what is this all for?

The word fearmongering has been thrown around a lot the last few weeks but this post is the absolute height of it.

Where in the name of Beyoncé did you get the idea that doctors are going to stop treating cancer patients?

I personally know one person who has had their treatment suspended. I also work in medical device industry and know for a fact that 75% of elective and 30% of essential procedures have been stopped, globally . That’s going to result in a lot of problem long term

Singapore confirms a sharp rise in new infections. The last 4 days has seen the highest daily cases. Singapore is struggling against a new wave of infections not linked to previous victims of the disease. Singapore was the leading country in measures taking to be ahead of this pandemic. Interesting read below:

"Prof Fisher says Singapore actually acted far earlier than other countries, while case numbers were still only just above 100 daily.

But for a lockdown to be effective, he says, three things need to happen. Firstly for transmission to stop - which will happen if everyone stays home. Then the healthcare system needs the time and space to recover - for beds to be freed up, and medical staff to be able to take time off.

Third is to get all systems in place - all isolation facilities, quarantine capacity, laws, contact tracing.

If you just do one and two and then you reopen, history is going to repeat, he warns."

Interesting when he mentioned isolation facilities because I read on Focus China what is planned.

Also China cases on the increase too. Chinese province plans to add 52,000 quarantine rooms. Everything from China take with a pinch of salt.

We are doing all time-critical surgeries (including cancer surgeries) in the hospital. It a person’s condition will deteriorate and cause a significant impact on their health, the surgery is proceeding. There are still theatres running for operations in the hospital every day of the week

Why would you even need to wash your hands often anyway? We have a lockdown so if you're following it then you shouldn't have to wash them much when at home.

If you're just sitting in your house all day, you don't need to wash your hands if you move from Kitchen to sitting room.

Not everyone is allowed to stay at home. Some people still have a job to go to. Then I'm hyper aware at home too because I live at home. Just in case I pick up the virus out and about and I have it and I don't know about it.

No. Apart from normal sanitary requirements, you only need to wash your hands if you have been out shopping or handle something like a package delivered to the house.

Saw a rake of people buying Easter eggs yesterday. Hardly essential. One person bought only Easter egg's, so the only reason for traveling was to buy non essential items. Disgraceful.

Oh look, it's the fun police. Just tucking into my easter egg now and thought you might like to know that it's delicious.

Jenner’s (I can never tell them apart) response to the Covid-crisis was utterly tone deaf.

I have not been able to go home to my family or friends since this kicked off (I am afraid of transmitting the infection to them). Boards has been a great way of staying connected! It has been a great source of entertainment in the difficult time

Have you changed soap? I got red hands from using hand sanitizer (when I was out and about) but when I was just washing with soap and water, I didn't have many problems.

Maybe get some moisturizer next time you're at the shops.

Make sure to dry your hands properly when you wash with soap and water. And you should hand-moisturiser several times per day

I said essential, not critical. Only those with heart attack getting stents for example. It’s the procedures that prevent patient’s becoming critical that are impacted, and can only go on for a period of time before these problems become critical.

An Taoiseach warns us that we haven’t even hit the peak of this, but makes no mention of upgrading our fake lockdown.

You always see loads of people out jogging without masks or anything spreading their germs. People congregating in parks. Time for a real lockdown!

Yeah 1 in 15000 of our population are now dead, many of them in nursing homes too.

If somebody has a bowel, bladder, throat, etc cancer, this will be completed. If they have a query cancer, the diagnostic process will proceed. If somebody has a blockage in a blood vessel and it needs to be unblocked, this will be completed. If somebody has a fractured bone, this will be completed. If somebody needs a C-section, this will be completed. If somebody has appendicitis, this will be completed. If somebody is bleeding or has a burst bowel, this will be completed. I could continue on with the list. Essential surgeries are completed in the hospital

Some interesting data, but I notice some of the younger patients are listed with hypertension as pre existing condition. An awful lot of people in thier 40s and 50s have undiagnosed hypertension

Lockdown will be lifted on a phased basis from May 5th regardless of the status of Covid.

The Economy needs to be kick started.
