Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I am due with my first baby in couple of weeks but the fact that noone from my family can't come to Ireland and visit me is very depressing. So probably I will spend two weeks with my family once the virus is over in Poland and they will come here, to Ireland
Bottle of champagne will be good too :)

    I'm gonna hug everybody.
Sister in law's mother died at the weekend and it felt crap wishing her condolences from 2 meters away.

If it's in the summer I'm throwing a BBQ!!!

Not trying to be a misery hole, I think it’s far too soon to be thinking about celebrating. We don’t know the extent of the death toll or anything. It could be a period of mourning rather than celebrating.

Also we aren’t going to see a blanket lifting of the lockdown either. Different countries are being affected in different ways. The USA is on the road to disaster. We may not see our American friends for months or longer. Travel restrictions will continue in some form or another.

The world will have changed and people will be more mindful or hygiene and stuff.

That said once this is over I’m booking a plane right away to L.A. and you won’t see me till the money run out! lol

I've seen some funerals that were fairly wild celebrations so period of mourning/celebration might roll in to one

See my sisters and brothers, nieces, and nephews I never realised how much I miss them. The WhatsApp group chat is not the same.

I am also going to go to every coffee shop where I live and have coffee in each one.

When it’s over I’ll miss shamelessly lying in bed til after midday, reading away to my hearts content, walking on the beach and then coming home to a big dinner eaten in the sun in the garden at 4 o’clock.

But I can’t wait to visit my loved one in a nursing home with dementia who has no idea why we’re not visiting or why they’ve been left alone.

Everything else I can take or have.

I’m off the booze for Lent so that will be over before K-19 lockdown is - can’t wait!!!

Really hope to take the kids on holiday in the summer...it's mostly booked and paid for

Otherwise, drink coffee and eat cake EVERYWHERE local, head for the cinema with the older 2, bring my 1 year old to every playground in the vicinity (his little sad face when I have to say no when he says "playground" at the moment is breaking my heart), I will drop my kids to their preschool and school the first day back just to see their delight, and I will take my sweet time chatting to my colleagues when I get back to the office.

Goes without saying that I will head for my parents too, and schedule in visits for all of our friends over as many weekends as possible.

And quite frankly - screw the begrudgers, hope for better times is one of the few things that keeps humans going in the worst of times, and we need it now. We can all be hopeful.

Honestly the first thing I’ll be doing is chucking my daughter out the door. My wife and kids are all home and my daughter has the place smelling like a brothel. The stink of drink and fags coming from her room is absolutely chronic.

An idea would be a national holiday as a one off to relaunch all business/ pub/restaurants/ cafes/hotels/tourist attractions .

Give everyone a long weekend and celebrate everything we will come through hopefully .

Supposed to be leaving in the morning for the Canaries, a big treat after 12 months of crap. Obviously not happening, i havent left the house in 2 weeeks now, well ive left the house but not met anyone (very rural, im lucky I know) . Once i get the all clear im back to work in a vital job.
Ive already said once its over im renting a house in the sun with a pool and taking all of my family with me... 4 generations of us. Hardest part of this is not holding my 4 week old grandchild who lives with me, walking in circles around each other. But yep, champers and a family lockdown in the sun for me.
Stay safe everyone and think big 😉

Sounds nice but this killer disease isn't just going to disappear into thin air anytime soon. Many people will be mentally scarred by whats happened. Even when things get better whenever that will be. I still cant get my head around it. When do you think your parents or grandparents will be safe to mix again like before? I would fear for mine for a long time to come. When will that bug come back or will it be gone at all? Older people like my 70 yr old parents and 93 year old grandad might not be confident for a long time to get back to normal.

I look forward to getting some bit of normality to life back. I miss sport incredibly as that is my one big passion in life ; GAA, soccer, snooker and golf. I would love to go to a Dubs game. Or Rovers. Or the Masters Snooker in London which i go to. Will never take for granted watching sport again. I'm trying to stay off the drink for a year. Started in February so wont be hitting a pub to celebrate anytime soon.

Unfortunately I think the celebration will be ruined by a minority of scum bags acting like , well, the scum that they are.

A day of zero news about it, just for one day, would be enough of a holiday. A complete ban for everyone from talking about it just for 24 hours.

while i have little to complain about, there is so much i want now.. to have nails and hair done, to go to a spa, to go out for a nice meal.. to go for coffee with mates.. i know, i have little to moan about ..

nothing will happen all of a sudden - can't see restaurants opening for a long time - or pubs - or anywer where lots of people gather - we don't have a vaccine - no cure... public gathering are way off in the future.. tis gonna be a strange year or so.. had been dreaming about meeting mates for coffee and a pedi and mani but have resorted to doing the latter 2 myself now.. stay well everyone..

    Some nice Indian food...

A Championship inter-county hurling game (with Clare)

Visit my nanna and give her a big bear hug.

I feel so bad for her. She lives alone and can't operate video calls. We talk on the phone most days but that's not nearly good enough. She misses the younger grandkids terribly.

I can't wait until it's safe to see her again.

What does an involuntary celibate autist loner male have to celebrate? I will go buy myself a big tub of ice cream without having to queue up outside Tesco. I will also have to job hunt again given that I left my wage slave position, however I don't regret leaving my wage slave position as I got much more time to watch the news, etc. When I was working I felt like I was missing out on the whole thing, it is a once in a lifetime thing.

I’ll celebrate by commuting to the office. Sadly looking forward to that bit of normality

I don't know if you're taking the p*ss or not but if you think getting laid and not being celibate is the answer to being content and happy you've another thing coming!

He means the same as myself. Stuck indoors alone with no screaming kids looking to be edumacated. Even the porn stars have (sensibly) taken to solo exploits. We'll make a comedy of this someday.

This is interesting. Golf. Go to the beach. Go on long drives. Hang out with friends. Prob go to a pub or cafe for an hour every evening just to hang out.

There are things that I will keep up from this quarantine, such as daily gardening and diy.

I would always be down in the parents for the dinner today, so that’s first on the list. And returning the favour will be the second.

Was slagging a friend about this yesterday who said the same thing. So I said “you’ll celebrate the end of social distancing and isolation by social distancing yourself and isolating yourself on a golf course!”
