How did they destroy the world economy? The virus, and individual country's reactions to that virus have caused the world economy to stumble. Which simply shows how vulnerable it has become. It's not destroyed.. drama queen theatrics.

And we come back to punishing China, and making them pay... but once again, simplistic statements expecting others to make it happen.

They covered it up that's how.

I'm not expecting others to make it happen. The conversation must start though and we all have our part to play in that. Muzzling opinion like the CCP do isn't helpful in that regard.

Have to ask why are some on this forum so determined to deflect blame from China?

    Here’s a list:

It was China’s fault to facilitate the bush meat industry and to allow unfettered consumption of wildlife meat - despite horrific animal cruelty and well known health risks

It was China’s fault that it allowed free access to “wet markets” - brazenly so- even after the knowledge that “wet markets” are a cause of zoonotic viruses

It was China’s fault to Silence and threaten ppl who alerted society about c19.

It was China’s fault that it downplayed the seriousness of c19

It was China’s fault that it provided knowingly false vital statistics about the virus to the global community.

It was China’s fault that it opted to broadcast false propaganda rather than scientific realities.

It was China’s fault that after the virus spread outside it’s borders it complained bitterly that air routes were being closed to it.

It was China’s fault to facilitate provision of useless PPE to States desperately attempting to buy some.

I am probably missing a few - please add more if they come to mind.

UPDATE: as some are unclear by “China” I mean the government of China.

It doesn't have to have been a bio weapon. It's more likely research and carelessness. They could have been researching viruses in bats and one of the staff fall ill.

It definitely could be as you described.

Although scientific literature has been warning about it for ages. Even if we destroyed every research lab in the world there would still be a high risk of pandemics like this.

How exactly? I agree with you btw.

We can start with Hollywood; they have been corrupted by China for years and are becoming a propoganda tool for them.

China only allow a certain amount of movies into their markets, this leads to a rush for movies to be China friendly that appease Chinese censors.

whats the best explanation why it hasn't spread across China? the easies is they are lying and it has given how infectious it seems to be. do they have a treatment they aren't being open about?

They covered up the destruction of the world economy? Wow. Impressive. Or they covered up the virus affecting the world.. even more impressive.

the CCP can muzzle, to a degree, discussion within China. It's can't do much to stop debate outside of China... which is why your posts make so little sense.

I don't see anyone trying to deflect from anything. There are very nuanced opinions in this thread, and alot of things that are being conflated.

Personally I believe China 'covererd up' for the first few weeks because they are a communist regime that doesn't function properly, but since then they have been pretty open and honest about things.

I don't agree with you about the wet markets. They didn't knowingly post false statistics to the world either but yes they still publish a lot of propoganda.

If we allow flights from China that is not their fault, it is our fault. It is not for China to ban flights here, it is up to us to ban flights from China.

We should count ourselves lucky China are sending any PPE at all.

It was China’s fault that it provided knowingly false vital statistics about the virus to the global community.

Knowingly? Can you back that up? The data on this everywhere is terrible, and conflicting
It was China’s fault to provide useless PPE to states desperately attempting to buy some.

"China" isn't an unregistered business that sells PPE, faulty or otherwise.

They're obviously not blameless but some of this stuff is ridiculous and OTT, Trump will be using this in his reelection campaign as well no doubt

I'm done with the thread. It's a jerk-fest of assigning blame, but avoiding responsibility. Pass the buck. For all the complaints, many here are behaving just as bad as the Chinese. Demands. Threats. Insular thinking. And an inability to argue logically on their own points... just throwing out rubbish and expecting people to accept it. An endless circle of ego stroking and virtue signalling. Pathetic.

This thread is just a petri-dish of what's happening out there in the media with regards this story. Nearly everyone seems to be blaming China because it's an easy deflection.

Seems pretty factual. All behaviour I would expect from a communist authoritarian dicatorship.

I'm not sure about their cover though,
"How the CCP's coverup lead to a global pandemic".

Even if this virus had originated in let's say South Korea it would have taken a few weeks to identify and start containment; could we be so sure they could have averted a global pandemic? I'm not so sure based on how infections this virus is.

During the SARS outbreak mainland China and Hong Kong accounted for 87% of all cases and 84% of all deaths. They did a pretty good job of restricting it there.

Interesting date to note on your timeline is Jan 20th, that's when news of H2H tranmission was available; everything from that moment on is our our responsibility.

The CCP as a deflection is bombarding the world accusing the world of being racist towards them , meanwhile there is state approved racism towards foreigners in parts of China
