    You know gloves can pass on the virus as well as bare hands.

    I've seen shop workers wearing gloves and then touching their own hair and face. Ridiculous! I think some people think the virus can see in through the skin on their hands!

    They were hitting them across the legs on the videos I saw, so unless your head is up your hole you aren't gonna get it smashed open.

    But once a police force are allowed to hit whoever they like maybe they won't just hit on the legs. These things can take on a momentum of their own.

    Do you really need to collect pensions in cash?
    This could go on for weeks, months even and it’s quite possibly to get it paid to a current account and get a debit card issued.

    Because if you flew into China you were first tested at the airport and then you were sent to a isolation hotel for 2 weeks (even if your test is negative).

    So I think the new imported cases in China were caught at the airport

    The point is now that the virus is in the community, incoming flights now are negligible and not the problem.

    All our original cases can be traced back to Italy or coming from elsewhere. Once in the country, community transmission becomes the problem.

    One case from abroad can infect directly or indirectly hundreds of others. Just one case. Yet we have hundreds of people coming in daily from the UK where it is now endemic.

Then the taxi or bus they use on the ground. And the family or location they go to once returned home.

    Why complicate even further a very complicated situation? We are struggling to deal with community transmission here already. Why potentially introduce more cases.

    There should be limited flights from London. Remember when the UK brought people home from Wuhan? It was on a charter plane. They were greeted at the airport by people in hazmat suits. And escorted to quarantine in a hotel for two weeks. They took it seriously then at least and recognised how virulent cv was.

    One positive of all this is we seem to be accelerating toward the cashless society which will have so many benefits from health to crime etc...

    No need to carry cash in this day and age.

    What difference will gloves make? Gloves will only help if they are changing them after each customer, but I doubt they have that many

    Yes they were. The Chinese aren't dumb enough to let people into the community from hotspot zones without being tested and quarantined immediately on arrival.

    Also hopefully better hygiene to reduce flu/cold/norovirus etc spreading, more might get flu vaccines too.

    We certainly won't be so cavalier about the next outbreak in China, either. It's a hard way to learn a lesson though.

    Not for me. As soon as this is all over I'll be back to cash.
    If you could trust that everything you do wasn't being tracked and used I'd have no problem with a cashless society but that'll never be the case.
