    I am pretty sure that Government advice two weeks ago was to not go crowded pubs and events. They just hadn't banned them yet.

    Sorry but that was in reference to the night before. I can admit it doesn't read like that, but the Saturday night was, with people saying goodbye and see you after all this is over (like at Xmas).

    Read your words, you literally said on the 15th that you just came back from the pub and there was Xmas Eve feel, is vibe not another word feel in this context?

    Advice was to avoid crowds of over 100, then over 50. I did both.

    Just heard this morning a lad from our estate is in a high dependency unit in hospital with the virus. He was out and about in Dublin city centre drinking in the pubs in the lead up to the closure and was diagnosed last Saturday with Covid19 according to my neighbour. He's only in his mid 20's also and i am unaware of any underlying health conditions he may have. Thought it was a bit strange not seeing him or his family out and about because they have 2 dogs which they frequently walk but obvious now they all in self isolation. Unsure if high dependency means ICU or not that's all the info iv'e been told at the minute.

    So schools etc. closed two weeks now, should we not see benefits now in the next few days? Why are they still saying we will see a huge wave coming (setting up morgues etc.). Is that due to it being in community so long? When should we see the benefit?

    We are seeing the benefits already, our numbers are pretty good compared to other countries.

    Expected indications over the next week or so and onwards is what they have been saying. Morgues are just planning for the worst.

    It looks like we're already seeing the benefit- we're staying on track with the lower estimates for the spread.

    I think it's a case of hoping for the best but planning for the worst, at this point. If it ends up being too much, I'm okay with that.

    People are still out and about. I have seen nothing anywhere saying that 2 weeks is the exact cut off, I have heard anecdotally 3 to 4 weeks in could asymptomatic, this is far from over. Fail to prepare, prepare to fail. Look at the mega powers either side of us and the shambles they are in.

    No, 50% of cases show symptoms within 5 days, and the % goes up rapidly with very few being asymptomatic by 14 days.

    Depends what they mean by huge wave.

    Personally, I do not see this hitting 15,000 cases by Tuesday

    That's not really it. More like:

    "This is the government's fault"
    "You ignored government advice and tried to downplay the risk"
    "No I didn't"

    This this the kind of nonsense we're going to see a lot more of as things get worse, and I don't think it's petty to call it out.
