What do you know? You don't know either way. I'm sure anyone who is donating PPE has it approved otherwise they wouldn't accept the donation.

Award winning German microbiologist - one of most cited research scientists in Germany - says the covid hysteria is nonsense.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JBB9bA-gXL4

We're being taken for a ride. When the dust settles the rich will to be richer and ordinary folk will be paying the tab for decades.

His maths was based on a snapshot of infections vs deaths in Germany from a few days ago. Deaths in Germany have increased quite a lot in the last few days making his argument significantly weaker.

    Doubtful.

Shares are down across the board by 30 or 40%.
Businesses and corporations are losing money hand over fist.
    GDP is down.
    Unemployment is up.

There's always ways of making money during a crisis, but I highly doubt a worldwide lockdown is the best way to increase your earnings. Unless these wealthy people happen to own hand sanitizer and mask factories.

Hahah or these wealthy people sold their exposure to high growth assets towards end of 2019, and will buy back in at the floor and making a killing.

I don't want to drag this on, as it's a moot point, but do you think the hospital are askign where did you get these from, are they of medical grade?

Really? Of course they would, they would have specs for masks and would not be able to use one that didn't comply with said specs.

And much more likely they wont. Their deaths actually dropped today.
But don't let that get in the way of your scaremongering yeah?

How do you know their deaths dropped today?

Final figures won't be available for this 24 hours period until tomorrow morning.

There are 656 deaths so far this period. 738 deaths for the previous period would appear highly likely to be well exceeded.

Mother in law is in Mater now with it, has worst kind of underlying condition, late stage lung cancer and needs nebulizer daily and is diabetic too. She is stable now, obviously the condition can change quickly, but for now shes stable and not on ventilator or anything like that yet.

Dublin blockade on the cards? Finland is blockading Helsinki. Less cases than us.
Another country with more recent experience of war.

Finland also aren't testing cases except occasionally, so they have no idea of the numbers. And they haven't closed pubs or restaurants yet, and schools reopened for younger children.

this guy and other crackpot linked here recently sound very intelligent but still have no good explanation for health services/ICU beds becoming completely overwhelmed in italy, spain, china, new york etc. the first guy didnt even address it. this guy vaguely mentions air quality at one point.

if this was business as usual, there would be zero issues with ventilators, ICU beds etc.

it's pretty amazing how people so educated can be so dumb.

Think it would make sense if one or both partners were out and about particularly someone more exposed like a nurse.

Definitely, especially if they have kids. Don't want both parents sick at same time if it can be avoided.

That's not how the world works. You'd need to have all your assets liquid and sell at the right time.

Nothing works like that. Having cash is the worst thing an investor can do.

Things are going to get out of control in Dublin, in 3 weeks they'll lock it down, and allow no one to leave. But they could do it now, China done it to Wuhan as soon as they saw there was a problem. We've know it for ages.

Need to get the timing right for a lockdown, if you go to early - people will lose patience and won't stick to guidelines... sure we saw that up and down the country on Mother's day for instance.
    Pheonix10 wrote: »

Think the age is irrelevant, and will do nothing than cause anxiety to said age group. If for instance everyone that die is in your age group - are you going to behave and differently than you should already be?

Nope - he is only using Germany numbers while prefacing it with covid is not the reason for death because you already had this that and the other

His explanation is basically "oh well most of those deaths were people dying anyways, so I'm only going to count the healthy people who die of corona"

Well if you have a condition that's going to kill you in two years, but you die today of Corona, well then you were killed by Corona, and not your underlying condition.:rolleyes:

Any mention of location of clusters?

That was shocking the way the Indian police are permitted to go around bashing ppl with sticks.

Then again, there are still a few youth gangs around here still congregating in groups in the evening I wouldn't mind giving the stick to.

Isn't it fairly common for people with underlying illnesses to succumb to a flu or other type of infection though?

I was responding with a tongue in cheek comment - if you knew the markets were going to crash at said time, you would sell, and then buy back when hits the floor.

Investors these days are looking for cash - it's why everything is falling - even gold - margin calls on swap contracts playing a huge part in it.

I'm a big fan of the people who are constantly minimising / deflect / confounding / muddying.

Those guys are great. Some times I like to go back 3 weeks and read their posts. Gives me such comfort that that they were so kind and warm with the predictions.

Did you miss the facts/stats in the rest of the post FFS. They're trending upwards on a steep curve. It's hardly scaremongering to suggest that curve will continue, at least until the lockdown has effect on numbers. One day of less deaths, doesn't not mean the overall trend is levelling off.

As someone joked before - no point giving the location - you would have a group of people heading over there to see what the craic is....

But on a serious note - if your following all the guidelines, then does it really matter where the cluster is. Are you going to behave differently knowing the it's within a 1km radius of your house?

Yeah politicians in US got in on the act and dumped their shares after a "private meeting" . The public wasn't ready to hear the bad news but they were ready to sell before the unwashed masses.
