    507013.PNG

again with all of this i'm just trying to show people the 14 day delay in an change in how we deal with this
if you wait till we are overloaded it's too late
everyone has to make up there own mind but at least look at the maths

    3 weeks no change 42K
    3 weeks slow change 23K
    3 weeks big drop 9K

    1 month no change 241K
    1 month slow change 56K
    1 month big drop 11K

you need to decide what you do today to affect 3 weeks from now

I think that's called victim blaming. Not so long ago there were 80 something year olds dying on trolleys in the hospital.
    They are still dead

No I don’t think you can brush it away as easy as that - I think we have certain people in this country who go to a&e for a sore finger, clogging the system up. Amazing that the numbers drop so drastically when they are warned to stay the **** away.

Hearing plenty of stories like this, seems to be a big joke to some people. If someone does it to me, they’d better pray the gardai are close by to pull me away from them or they’ll be getting body bagged on the side of the street.
That will happen sooner rather than later and some young idiot will get a thumping.

That's, what, a 1.3% death rate vs. Italy's 11%? I guess it could be worse for the U.S.

Well Cuomo in NY made it pretty clear that their heath system is not yet at capacity, though they expect to exceed capacity in about 8 or 9 days time. That could change things in that hot spot unless there's some significant interventions.

The count in the US is still small for the overall population. I wonder, what was Italy's death rate when their confirmed case count was under 200 cases per million? That would have been around the 10,000 - 12,000 level.

Absolutely and I won’t be shedding any tears for them - 14/24/34 years old - try that **** once and you’ll regret it for the rest of your life.

Are the UK doing an excellent job of dealing with this, I can understand the low cases because of testing but deaths would be higher to hide.

These figures were mentioned yesterday. My understanding of the figures were that they were in relation to the contact tracing. As in each person diagnosed, had approx. 20 contacts and now contact tracing is slightly slimmer with approximately 5 contacts per diagnosed person.

Means nothing when there are construction sites still open with 600+ Employees there, how could you contact trace that!

We have or will shortly the capacity to ventilate 600 or so patients. Final logistics still being worked on. 270 or so public. 200 private. Then it goes to theatre / war zone mode with more vents coming all the time.

We need to stop the exponential growth. That’s the key.

    Thanks for that info.
So we’ve 39 in icu with capacity for 600 max.
So we are at 6.5% of icu capacity.
With a max capacity of 470 (public +private beds) we are at 8.3%.
    (Someone check my maths please!)
This is the number to keep an eye on. If we go above 100% we r fooked.

cases are vastly unreported so its nowhere that high of a death rate.

It was always expected to be. The virus spread can only be slowed down not stopped completely.

    People still die from Flu
    People still die from Cancer
People still die from AIDS (in poorer countries mostly)

Unfortunately Coronavirus will be with us indefinitely even in a post vaccine world just like the aforementioned illnesses above.

Do they remove the recovered cases from the total, I would like to see what the total known active cases are.

The 187 is only Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, the figures from the rest of England are not in yet. There will be a much more substantial number once they are.

we have already gone past that number
if you look at it any change takes 14 days to apply
we pass that number on the 6th of April with the middle growth numbers

Because your mind turned it into a macabre competition. It's OK to be interested in the statistics around this. Pay attention and you mind learn something.

    Thanks,its a worry,as wife a smoker,50 % of seriuos cases in china were smokers.:(

The fact your wife is a smoker should be a worry to you and your wife in the first place. Smoking causes cancer . Cancer kills people. But as humans when the danger is not an upfront and immediate danger we choose to ignore it. The same for alcohol abusers and obese people . This virus is a horrible thing dont get me wrong but most of the people that will have issues with it will indirectly because their immune systems are comprised due to bad habits they chose to bury their head in the sand over. This should be a wake up call to everyone who choose to live unhealthy .If covid 19 doesnt get you now your own bad habits will eventually
